NESCAC Player of the Week
Sofia Gonzalez – Tufts – Sr. – G – Glendale, Calif.
Gonzalez helped Tufts post a 2-0 weekend with home wins over Williams and previously unbeaten in NESCAC play Middlebury. Gonzalez averaged 19.0 points per game in the two wins shooting 45.5 percent overall while nailing 58.3 percent from 3-point range. Gonzalez also added 4.5 rebounds per game. Against Williams, the guard posted 13 points and four rebounds, going 3-of-5 from 3-point range, including hitting a key three with 1:25 remaining in the contest to help seal the win for the Jumbos. Against Middlebury, Gonzalez posted a career-high 25 points, making four of her seven 3-point attempts. 

NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Maya Cwalina (Middle Village, N.Y.) averaged 10 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 5.3 blocks per game last week. In an overtime loss to Wesleyan, she recorded 10 blocks and 10 rebounds to go with her eight points.

Bates Elsa Daulerio (Harpswell, Maine) recorded a pair of double-doubles against rivals Bowdoin and Colby. The junior tallied 18 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocked shots on Friday against No. 5 ranked Bowdoin. Daulerio followed that up with 21 points and 11 rebounds Sunday against Colby. Daulerio has four double-doubles on the year and leads the Bobcats in both scoring (15.6 ppg) and rebounding (8.8 rpg).
 
Bowdoin – Junior Carly Davey (Westford, Mass.) scored nine of her 11 points in the fourth quarter, including a 3-pointer with two minutes left and a bank-shot runner in the lane with 23 seconds to go, to seal a Friday night 57-52 win at Bates.
 
Colby – Kate Olenik (Medfield, Mass.) led the Mules to two victories last week, including a three-point win over Bates on Sunday for Colby's third straight NESCAC victory to open the conference schedule. The sophomore’s 22-point, 11-rebound performance against the Bobcats marked her first double-double of the season, and the second of her career. The sophomore also tallied 20 points in a midweek showdown as Colby ran away from Husson by 21. Olenik has reached double-digits in 13 of 14 games this season and ranks second in the NESCAC at 20.1 points per game.
 
Conn. College – Hayle Thompson (Maynard, Mass.) averaged 8.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game last week as the Camels posted a 1-2 record. The sophomore netted a game-high 16 points on 8-for-8 shooting in a win at Clark and added eight rebounds, two assists, and a block. In league action Thompson finished with 10 points, seven boards, and two assists against Middlebury and chipped in four rebounds and a block against Williams. Thompson shot 69 percent (11-for-16) from the floor for the week and went 4-for-6 from the free throw line.
 
Hamilton – Kendall Harris (Chapel Hill, N.C.) averaged 18.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, and was 5-of-10 from 3-point range and 6-for-6 at the free-throw line in two games. Harris poured in 26 points, including nine in the fourth quarter, in the Continentals' 68-61 win at Wesleyan. The sophomore was a rebound short of a double-double with a team-high 11 points and nine boards in a 55-44 setback at Trinity.
 
Middlebury – Alexa Mustafaj (Yonkers, N.Y.) became the first men’s or women’s Middlebury basketball player to eclipse the 2,000 career points mark last weekend. The Panther averaged 23.0 points per game in a 1-1 NESCAC weekend and led all players with 27 points against Tufts. Mustafaj leads the NESCAC in scoring at 22.3 points per game and her 2,007 career points rank six among Division III players and fourth among women. 
 
Trinity – Sophomore Olivia Vick (Chicago, Ill.) powered the Bantams offense to a 3-0 week, averaging 17.7 points, 2.3 assists, and 2.0 rebounds per game as Trinity captured wins over MIT, Amherst, and Hamilton. Against the Engineers, Vick registered a game-high 22 points, shooting 7-of-10 from the field, including 6-of-10 from beyond the arc, and tallying two steals while dishing out three assists. Vick followed with 17 points, four assists, and three rebounds versus Amherst, along with 14-point effort in the victory over the Continentals.
 
WesleyanTori DaCosta (Bronx, N.Y.) played one of the best games of her career on Saturday, finishing with a season-high 24 points (one off her career-high) and a career-high 18 rebounds as the Cardinals pulled off a 70-65 overtime win over Amherst for the Cardinals’ second win over Amherst in the past 37 meetings. DaCosta dominated the scoring throughout for the Cardinals who were playing with just eight non-injured players. She also posted 14 points on Friday against Hamilton. 
 
Williams – Ellie Tounkara (Rockville, Md.) averaged 14.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, while shooting a combined 9-of-18 from the field, 6-for-12 on 3-pointers and 4-of-4 from the charity stripe, in a 1-1 NESCAC weekend for the Ephs. At Tufts, the senior scored 15 points, going 3-for-5 on 3-pointers, and grabbed four rebounds. Tounkara finished with 13 points, going 3-of-7 from long range, and pulled down five rebounds in a 65-52 win at Connecticut College.
