NESCAC Player of the Week
Sarah Peterson – Bowdoin – So. - G – Maple Grove, Minn.
Peterson was outstanding in a pair of Polar Bear wins over Trinity last weekend as Bowdoin moved to 6-0-0 in conference play. Peterson stopped 27 shots on Friday, holding the Bantams scoreless for the final 36:23 in a 2-1 win. On Saturday, she stopped 26 shots, allowing only a goal in the final minute of play in a 3-1 victory. For the weekend, Peterson owned a 1.00 goals against average and a .964 save percentage. The sophomore is 7-0-0 with a 0.99 goals against average and .962 save percentage this season.
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst –
Cara Mancini (Shrewsbury, Mass.) had two goals and an assist last week, a 3-0-0 week for the Mammoths in which they outscored opponents 12-0. The sophomore had a goal and an assist in a 5-0 win over Curry and added another goal in a 4-0 win over Worcester State.
Colby – Senior
Georgia Pettygrove (Hopkins, Minn.) scored the game-winner Friday night at Hamilton one minute into overtime. Her unassisted tally was the defender's third goal of the season and her second game-winner.
Conn. College – Junior goaltender
Devon Galizio (Wayland, Mass.) started both games in goal for Conn. in a weekend series against No. 1 Middlebury. On Friday night, Galizio stopped 32 shots in a setback against the Panthers. On Saturday, Galizio was even better, finishing with 36 saves, as the Camels stunned the previously unbeaten Panthers. 2-1. in overtime. For the weekend, Galizio finished with a 1-1 record and 68 saves.
Hamilton –
Brooke Heck (Tampa, Fla.) scored a goal – the first of the first-year defender's collegiate career – in a 1-1 tie against Colby.
Sarah Myziuk (Macomb, Mich.) recorded an assist – the first-year's first – in a 3-2 overtime setback against the Mules. Junior
Grace Crowley (Wayland, Mass.) had five points (two goals, three assists) in three games.
Middlebury – Senior
Sabrina Kim (Los Angeles, Calif.) matched her career high on Friday, dishing out three assists in a 5-0 victory at Connecticut College. Kim leads the NESCAC with 13 helpers and is tied for second in points (14). The Panther helped Middlebury to an 11-0-0 start this year and has tallied at least one point in seven contests.
Trinity – Rookie
Gabriela Gross (Hoboken, N.J.) netted a pair of goals for the Bantams in a weekend series against Bowdoin. Gross potted the game-tying goal for Trinity in the second period for the series opener and added a late unassisted tally in the nightcap.
Wesleyan – Sophomore goaltender
Jenna Guglielmi (Branford, Conn.) recorded a 32-save shutout in Friday's 1-0 home win over Williams, giving the sophomore her first career shutout in NESCAC play.
Williams –
Sophia Hoppe (Saint Paul, Minn.) scored the game-winning goal in the first period in a 2-0 win at Wesleyan on Saturday. The senior also scored a goal against visiting and No. 12-ranked Utica on Tuesday.
