NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Sophomore Mohammed Nuhu (Accra, Ghana) scored the game's only goal as No. 2 Amherst edged No. 8 Conn. College, 1-0, on Saturday. Earlier in the week Nuhu notched two assists, including a helper on the game-winner, as the Mammoths defeated Suffolk, 4-0. Nuhu’s four-point week helped the Mammoths start the season with a 2-0-0 mark.

Bates – Sophomore Benny Bogyo (Redwood City, Calif.) began his collegiate career with a pair of goals in a 2-0 week for the Bobcats. In Wednesday's 3-0 win over Saint Joseph's College (ME), senior Rex Ah Chu (Flower Mound, Texas) delivered a throw-in from the near side, and sophomore Noah Greiff (Washington, D.C.) redirected the ball with his head to a waiting Bogyo on the far side of the box. Bogyo’s one-timed volley found the back of the net for his first collegiate goal. On Saturday, following a great individual effort down the left wing, Bogyo roped a line-drive shot into the bottom right of the net for the Bobcats’ second goal in a 2-0 win over Trinity in the NESCAC opener. The Bobcats are 2-0 to start the season for the first time since 2021.

Bowdoin – Junior Tyler Huck (Ross, Calif.) scored a game-tying goal and delivered the assist on the game-winning goal with 5:10 remaining in a 3-2 win over Colby on Friday. Down 1-0 early, Huck knotted the score in the 22nd minute, putting home a feed from senior Ronaldo Cabral (Saugus, Mass.) to deadlock the contest. With the teams tied at 2-2 in the closing moments, Huck delivered a picture-perfect free kick from the right wing to the head of junior Paul Cluskey (La Jolla, Calif.) for the game-winner.

Colby – Senior Mario Simoes (Belem, Brazil) struck for two goals in as many games to open the 2024 season.  In Tuesday's opener against Thomas, Colby tied the match at 1-1 late in the second half and the senior tallied the game-winner with under two minutes to play.  In Friday night's matchup at Bowdoin, Simoes got the Mules on the board first striking for his second goal of the week just over six minutes into play.

Connecticut College - Senior Matt Scoffone (Thornton, Pa.) picked up where he left off last season, recording the game-winning goal on Tuesday’s 3-0 victory over Merchant Marine. Just five minutes into the contest, Scoffone received a pass at the top of the box and fired the ball into the back of the net, to give Conn. College the early lead.

Hamilton – Senior Luke Ehrenfreund (Brooklyn, N.Y.) scored in the 23rd minute of the Continentals' 3-2 setback against SUNY Oswego and had the primary assist on Hamilton’s goal in the 54th minute of a 3-1 loss at Middlebury. Ehrenfreund has nine career goals and 10 career assists for 28 points.

MiddleburyLuke Madden (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) tallied five points in a 3-0 opening week for Middlebury. The Panther scored once in a 4-0 win over Norwich and dished out a helper in a 5-1 victory over Keene State in midweek action. In the first game of the NESCAC slate, Madden netted the opening goal against Hamilton, leading Middlebury to a 3-1 triumph. The senior is one of just three players to record five points during the opening week.

Trinity – Sophomore Jack Murphy (Alexandria, Va.) tallied both Trinity goals to send the Bantams to a 2-1 non-conference victory over Framingham State. Murphy broke a scoreless tie in the 29th minute with a header off a corner kick and netted the game-winner in the 32nd minute off a deep strike from outside the box.

WesleyanZach Feldman's (Livingston, N.J.) first career goal helped lift the Cardinals to a 1-0 road win over Western New England in the season opener. The sophomore played all 90 minutes in that contest and again on Saturday in Wesleyan's 0-0 draw at home against Babson. Through two games, Feldman and the Cardinal defense have not yielded a goal

Williams – Rookie Alex Bethencourt (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) buried two goals in his collegiate debut, including the game-winning tally in the 74th minute, in a 3-1 victory at Wheaton on Tuesday.
