Tufts to Host 2024 NESCAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships

HADLEY, Mass. – The track & field teams from all 11 NESCAC institutions will convene at Tufts University's Ellis Oval / Zimman Field / Dussault Track for the 2024 NESCAC Track & Field Championships. The Jumbos are hosting the event for the first time since 2013. All events will be contested on Saturday, April 27 with a 9 a.m. start time.

2023 Championship Recap | Results
Tufts and Middlebury repeated as the NESCAC Men's and Women's Track & Field Champions, respectively, in 2023. The Jumbos won their seventh conference title with 171 points. Five Jumbos won NESCAC titles in individual events and 13 Tufts athletes earned All-NESCAC honors. Williams was the NESCAC Runner-Up with 126 points and Amherst was third (114.5 points) to round out the top three teams in the men's standings.

Middlebury posted 154 points and won its second straight NESCAC women's title by seven points. The Panthers' 4x800 relay team and a victory in the discus marked the first-place finishes while 11 other Middlebury athletes garnered All-NESCAC honors to help the program win its fourth NESCAC crown overall. Tufts finished second with 147 points and was followed by Williams in third (133.5 points).

Championship History
Six schools have won the NESCAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field title, led by Williams with 23 overall. The Ephs' last NESCAC crowns came in 2016 and 2017. Tufts' title in 2023 was the seventh for the Jumbos, while Trinity won four titles between 1984 and 1989. Bates won two championships 12 years apart in 2000 and 2012 and Middlebury won back-to-back NESCAC Championships in 2018 and 2019. Colby claimed the NESCAC title in 1986.

Five programs have won a NESCAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field title. Williams owns 26 crowns and has won 18 of the last 21 titles. The Jumbos have won four NESCAC titles, including three straight from 1986 to 1988 to go along with their most recent championship in 2013. The Panthers' 2023 title marked the fourth time Middlebury claimed the top spot in the team standings to go along with the championships it won in 1998 and 2000. Bowdoin won back-to-back championships in 1992 and 1993 and Colby claimed the conference titles in 1984 and 1985.
