NESCAC Player of the Week
Jack Raba – Wesleyan – Gr. – A – Cheshire, Conn.
Raba continues to engineer the highest-scoring team in the nation, putting up 11 points (3G, 8A) in two wins last week to give him a team-leading 28 points on the season. Raba started the week with two goals and four assists playing just over two quarters in a 23-10 win at Stockton before recording a five-point game (1G, 4A) in a 13-10 triumph at Williams. All five of Raba's points came in the second half as he either scored or assisted on each of the final five Cardinal goals scored in the win.
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Sophomore
Bob Gross (Potomac, Md.) scored seven goals and added an assist in a 2-0 week for the Mammoths. In a 14-11 win over Swarthmore, the attack scored two goals and had two groundballs. In a 12-7 win over Colby, Gross netted five goals and added one assist.
Bates – Newcomer
Andrew Toland (Hingham, Mass.) matched his season-high with 21 saves Saturday at Middlebury. Toland recorded a save percentage of .553 and scooped up a season-high seven ground balls while also causing a turnover in the cage against the Panthers.
Bowdoin – Bowdoin first-year
Nate Ryan (San Diego, Calif.) scored a career-high six goals with two assists as the Polar Bears earned a 19-11 win at Connecticut College on Saturday.
Colby –
Max Solmssen (San Francisco, Calif.) connected for two goals and two assists in a setback against Amherst on Saturday. Colby held the Mammoths to their lowest goal total of the season, and three of the senior's four points came in the fourth quarter as Colby clawed back from a 5-1 first-half deficit.
Conn. College –
Liam Horkan (Conn. College) led the Camels with nine goals in two games last week. He netted a hat trick in a 19-14 road victory at Salve Regina to help Conn collect its first win of the season. Horkan added a career-high six tallies in a conference matchup against Bowdoin, the most goals scored by a Camel in a game this season.
Hamilton - Sophomore
Frank Coyle (Peterborough, Ontario) racked up eight points in a 1-1 weekend at Stevenson's Mustang Classic. Coyle tied a season-high with four goals and added an assist in a 16-15 win against Lynchburg, and scored three goals and scooped up four ground balls in a 19-12 setback against Tufts.
Middlebury – Junior
Billy Curtis (Beverly Farms, Mass.) helped Middlebury earn a come-from-behind 17-10 victory over Bates on Saturday. The Panther set a single-game program record with seven assists. Curtis also tallied two goals, giving him a career-best nine points in the win.
Trinity –
Bo Page (Wayne, Pa.) registered career-highs with two goals and three assists for five points in a 16-12 win over Scranton. Page also collected three ground balls in the contest. The first year also scored in a 13-8 victory over Western Connecticut as the Bantams picked up their first two wins of the season.
Williams – Senior
Pearse Glavin (Newtown Square, Pa.) scored a hat trick against Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon at Farley-Lamb Field in Williamstown, Massachusetts.
