NESCAC Cross Country Awards Announced

HADLEY, Mass. – Charles Namiot of Williams and Audrey MacLean of Middlebury are the NESCAC Most Outstanding Performers following the 2024 NESCAC Cross Country Championships hosted by Bowdoin College on November 2. The annual honor is given to the individuals who finished first at the conference championships.

Namiot, who also earned his third consecutive All-NESCAC accolade with a spot on the First Team, took home the men's title with a winning time of 24:40.9, nearly 11 seconds ahead of the runner-up. Namiot is the third straight Eph to claim the men's title and fifth in six years. The senior is the seventh athlete from Williams to garner the Most Outstanding Performer honor. Namiot helped the Ephs claim their fifth straight NESCAC title and 22nd overall.

MacLean won the women's title with a time of 20:21.5, the fastest 6k time at the NESCAC Championships since 2012. The sophomore is the first Middlebury runner to garner the Most Outstanding Performer honor since 2016 (Abigail Nadler) and the fourth Panther since 2000. MacLean, last year's NESCAC Rookie of the Year, also earned a spot on the All-NESCAC First Team for the second year in a row.

First-years Keiyu Mamiya of Williams and Keira Rogan of Hamilton were honored as the NESCAC Men's and Women's Rookies of the Year, respectively. Mamiya finished 24th overall (25:21.8) and is the ninth Eph to collect NESCAC Rookie of the Year honors. Rogan was the NESCAC Runner-Up by 1.68 seconds which earned her a spot on the All-NESCAC First Team with her second-place time of 20:22.9. Rogan is the first Hamilton runner to earn the NESCAC Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Year Honor.

The Williams men's and women's coaching staffs (Dusty Lopez, Stephanie Mauer, Mike Blair, and Barb Grossov) were voted as the Coaching Staffs of the Year by their peers. It marked the first time since 2000 that the same institution was honored with the award.
