TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Williams Ephs led the contingent of NESCAC teams and runners at the 2024 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center in Terre Haute, Indiana. A total of 11 NESCAC teams and 11 individual runners from the conference qualified for the championships.
Middlebury sophomore Audrey MacLean led the NESCAC runners in the women’s individual standings. MacLean placed sixth overall with a time of 21:10.8 over the 6K course. Williams rookie Kate Tuttle finished eighth (21:12.9) to give the NESCAC a pair of top-10 finishers. Faith Duncan of Wilmington won the individual title with a time of 20:16.5, 41 seconds ahead of the rest of the field.
The MIT Engineers claimed the team title with 128 points. The University of Chicago was second (138 pts) and Williams finished third (155 pts). It was the sixth third-place finish for the Ephs in program history and best finish for the Ephs since 2019.
Ephs’ senior Charles Namiot was the top NESCAC runner in the men's race. He covered the 8K course in a time of 24:14.7 to finish seventh overall. Wisconsin-Whitewater’s Christian Patzka claimed the individual title with a winning time of 24:01.6.
The Wisconsin-La Crosse squad captured the NCAA team title with 77 points, well in front of runner-up Wartburg (173 pts). Williams was the top NESCAC team, totaling 278 points for a 10th-place finish.
