NESCAC Co-Players of the Week
Sydney Jones - Bowdoin - Jr. - G - Chestnut Hill, Mass.
Jones
averaged 24.0 points per game in a 2-0 NESCAC week for the Polar Bears, including a career-high 28 on the road at Colby on Saturday. For the week, Jones connected on 59 percent (16-for-27) of her shots from the field, shot 55 percent (5-for-7) from 3-point range, and was 11-for-11 from the free-throw stripe. She also averaged 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game as the Polar Bears extended their win streak to 14 games and are 17-1 overall.
Reilly Campbell - Trinity - Sr. - C - Wallingford, Conn.
Campbell
helped power the Bantams to a pair of NESCAC victories, averaging a double-double of 24.0 points and 10.5 rebounds with 2.5 blocks. Campbell also shot 72 percent from the floor and 80 percent from the free-throw line (12-for-15). Campbell logged her sixth double-double of the season with 21 points and 12 rebounds, along with two blocks, an assist, and a steal in a 67-56 win over Wesleyan. Campbell netted a game-high 27 points with nine rebounds, three blocks, and an assist during a 61-50 win over Colby.

Bates – Junior
Alexandra Long (Newtown, Pa.) delivered the assist on the game-winning basket at the buzzer to help Bates beat Tufts for the first time since 2010. With the game tied at 60-60 and 0.8 seconds left in regulation, Long inbounded the ball from the left side of the court and sent a pass over the defense to the right block, leading first-year teammate
Elsa Daulerio (Harpswell, Maine) to the perfect spot for a buzzer-beating layup, clinching the win and securing the Bobcats their first 4-0 start in NESCAC play in program history. Long finished the Tufts game with 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting, six rebounds, four assists, a career-high four blocked shots, and a steal. Long leads the NESCAC in blocked shots, averaging two per game. Her 2.6 assist-to-turnover ratio is also the best in the conference. Earlier in the week, Long scored nine points on 4-of-7 shooting, grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds, dished out six assists, blocked two shots, and recorded a steal in a 74-49 win over Saint Joseph's College (ME).
Conn. College –
Hayle Thompson (Maynard, Mass.) paced Conn with a season-high 13 points in a non-conference loss to UMass Dartmouth last week. The rookie got the starting nod and also added eight rebounds, three blocks, two assists, and a steal in 28 minutes of action.
Colby –
Lydia Mordarski (Mansfield, Mass.) led the Mules in scoring in two NESCAC setbacks last weekend. Against Bowdoin, the sophomore tallied 18 points and five rebounds, and in Sunday's contest at Trinity Mordarski netted 11 with three rebounds, two steals, and a block. Modarski is averaging 13.0 points per game over the last five games.
Hamilton –
Taylor Lambo (Watertown, Mass.) posted 19 points and eight rebounds (7 offensive), handed out a career-high five assists, and added one blocked shot and one steal in a 53-49 win against Amherst. The sophomore forward scored four points during a 12-0 run that put the Continentals in the lead for good late in the fourth quarter. Lambo finished with two points and four boards in just six minutes of action in a 62-45 victory against SUNY Polytechnic.
Middlebury – Sophomore
Calie Messina (Auburn, Mass.) posted an all-around effort in an 84-43 victory over Williams. The Panther finished with career-best totals in points (15), rebounds (8), and steals (7), while also contributing four assists during the win.
Tufts – Senior
Maggie Russell (Morristown, N.J.) tallied 24 points on 10-of-19 shooting and added 10 rebounds before fouling out late in the game at Bates in the lone contest of the week for the Jumbos.
Wesleyan –
Olivia Quinn (Franklin, Mass.) averaged 17.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in two games last week. The sophomore guard scored 13 points with eight rebounds and two steals at Bowdoin and followed with 21 points, one shy of her career-high, on Saturday at Trinity.
Williams –
Arianna Gerig (Westport, Conn.) averaged 22.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 steals, 2.0 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game and went 14-for-15 from the free-throw line in a 1-1 week for the Ephs. The junior scored a game-high 26 points and eight rebounds, to go along with a career-high nine steals, in a 60-52 victory over visiting Amherst in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday. On Saturday against Middlebury, Gerig paced the Ephs with 18 points.
