Every Tuesday throughout the swimming & diving season, the NESCAC Performers of the Week will be announced. The men's swimming & diving performer of the week and honor roll performers for January 16 are listed below.

NESCAC Men's Swimming & Diving Performer of the Week
Oliver Schalet - Williams - Jr. - Northampton, Mass.
Schalet dominated the pool and left a trail of victories in his wake. Schalet clinched first in the 200 freestyle, 100 freestyle, and 200 IM. Adding to the triumph, Schalet played a crucial role in securing victory for the Ephs in the 400 medley relay swimming the freestyle leg and recording a time of 45.65. In the 200 freestyle, Schalet was in full throttle clocking in an impressive 1:42.04. Shortly after, the junior dove into the 100 freestyle, posting a stellar time of 46.25. Schalet finished off the day winning the 200 IM, powering through with a time of 1:53.42.

NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst - Henry Liu (Atlanta, Ga.) won both breaststroke events against Williams, leading the way with times of 57.00 (100 breaststroke) and 2:06.36 (200 breaststroke). Liu also posted a split of 56.32 in the breaststroke leg of the 400 medley relay.

Bates – John Weigel (Iowa City, Iowa) had a tremendous weekend of racing. On Saturday against Norwich, the rookie swam his first 100 breaststroke and broke the pool record with a time of 58.4. On Sunday against Middlebury, Weigel returned to his usual events and posted in-season bests in every event. Weigel won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:42.6 and continued to develop his butterfly with a time of 51.9 - which was good enough to win the race.  

Colby – Neil Mortimer (Pittsford, N.Y.) had a strong outing pacing the Mules to victory over Middlebury. The senior won the 50 (22.48) and 100 butterfly (50.60) races and was a member of both winning relays, posting splits of 22.16 in the 50 butterfly and 21.00 in 50 freestyle. Mortimer continued his fast swimming against Conn. College winning the 50 freestyle (21.28) and posting a 49.89 in the 100 butterfly while also contributing to both winning relays for the Mules. 

Trinity – Matthew Brown (Beverly, Mass.) won every event that he swam on Saturday and Monday in meets against Clark, St. Joseph (CT), and Vassar. The junior won the 100 backstroke (54.69), the 100 butterfly (52.91), and 100 IM (55.31). The 100 butterfly was a personal best time. On Monday, Brown won the 200 butterfly (1:56.62) and 200 IM (1:57.82) and also contributed in the relays posting a splits of 27.44 in the 50 breaststroke, 25.41 in the 50 backstroke, and 48.76 in the 100 freestyle. 

Wesleyan – Harrison Hong (Carmel, Calif.) performed well last weekend, helping the relays finish top 5 against RIT, Hamilton, and Ithaca. The junior posted a time of 22.6 in the butterfly leg of the medley relay and a time of 21.9 in the 200 freestyle relay. Hong also won the 100 butterfly event in a time of 50.7 and won his heat in the 200 freestyle (1:49.2).
