NESCAC Player of the Week
Elsa Daulerio – Bates – So. – C – Harpswell, Maine
Daulerio averaged 15.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per game last week as the Bobcats went 3-0. The sophomore began the week recording a double-double of 10 points and a season-high 12 rebounds in 20 minutes of action in an 87-62 win over Rivier. The center poured in 18 points, grabbed eight rebounds, dished out three assists, and blocked two shots Friday night in an 82-66 win over Hamilton. Daulerio also delivered a game-high 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting and tallied eight rebounds in a 59-41 win over Amherst on Saturday. The Bobcats (14-2, 3-0 NESCAC) have beaten their three conference opponents by an average of 21.7 points per game. Bates has the number one scoring offense and the number one scoring defense in NESCAC play so far this season.
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst –
Laura Mendell (Westport, Mass.) averaged 13.3 points., 3.3 rebounds., 2.0 assists, and 2.0 steals in a 2-1 week for the Mammoths. In a win over Rowan, Mendell scored a career-high 22 points with four rebounds, two assists, and a steal. In a 68-63 road victory over Tufts, the sophomore notched 11 points, four rebounds, four assists, and four steals.
Bowdoin – Junior
Sydney Jones (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) scored a game-high 23 points as the Polar Bears rallied from an eight-point, fourth-quarter deficit, to defeat Williams on Saturday, 54-51.
Conn. College –
Rebecca Oberman-Levine (Hamden, Conn.) averaged 12.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 3.0 blocks per game last week for the Camels. The senior finished with 11 points, six rebounds, five assists, and two blocks versus Trinity. Oberman-Levine led Conn with 13 points at Wesleyan and chipped in five boards, four blocks, and three assists.
Colby –
Amelia Hanscom (Andover, Mass.) averaged 14.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in two games last weekend. Her eight third-quarter points against Williams on Friday helped Colby hit its highest point total against the Ephs (73) since 2011 when the Mules scored 85. The first-year forward currently ranks 10th in the NESCAC with 7.3 rebounds per game.
Hamilton –
Emily Hall (Phoenix, Ariz.) averaged 14.0 points and 5.3 rebounds and shot 54.8 percent (17-of-31) from the field in three road games. Hall led the Continentals with 17 points in an 82-66 setback at Bates. The junior point guard's 13 points and 10 boards in a 70-63 loss at Tufts marked their second career double-double. Hall chipped in 12 points and two steals in a 74-56 loss at Smith.
Middlebury -
Augusta Dixon (Charleston, S.C.) led Middlebury to a 2-1 record last week. The Panther recorded three double-doubles to extend her streak to six consecutive games. Dixon averaged 18.3 points and 11.7 rebounds per game last week and leads the NESCAC in rebounding at 10.2 caroms per contest. The guard led the team in a three-point loss to Bowdoin, tallying a career-best 22 points to go along with 10 boards. Dixon also paced all players in points (19) and rebounds (13) in a 50-40 win over Colby.
Trinity – Senior
Reilly Campbell (Wallingford, Conn.) led the Bantams offense to a pair of victories, averaging 15.0 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 61 percent from the field. Campbell posted a game-high 19 points with six rebounds in a 70-47 win at Worcester State. Campbell added 11 points and three rebounds in 17 minutes of action in a 62-50 win at Conn. College.
Tufts – Senior forward
Maggie Russell (Morristown, N.J.) helped the Jumbos post a 1-1 record last weekend with a win over Hamilton Saturday. For the week, Russell averaged 27.0 points per game, which included a 36-point output on Saturday against Hamilton. On Friday, Russell scored 18 points and added nine boards against Amherst, going 7-for-8 from the free-throw line. Saturday, she was 11-of-16 from the floor, making both 3-pointers and hitting 12-of-13 at the stripe while posting her season high. Russell also moved into fifth place on the all-time Tufts scoring list with her 1,257 points.
Wesleyan – Sophomore
Olivia Quinn (Franklin, Mass.) averaged 16.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in 29.3 minutes per game as the Cardinals earned home wins over Coast Guard and Conn. College last week. Quinn started with 18 points (6-14 FG), nine rebounds, two assists, and two steals in a 69-68 upset win over Coast Guard who entered the game with just two losses. Quinn followed up with 15 points, six rebounds, and four assists in just 23 minutes as Wesleyan defeated the Camels 68-50 on Sunday.
Williams –
Arianna Gerig (Westport, Conn.) averaged 23.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 2.0 steals in a 1-1 NESCAC weekend for the Ephs. The junior converted 13 of 15 free throws over two games. In an 80-73 win over visiting Colby, Gerig scored a game-high 26 points and her seven rebounds and four assists were tied for the most in the game. Gerig reached the 1,000-career point milestone in a 54-51 setback against Bowdoin Saturday afternoon at Chandler Gymnasium in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Gerig finished the game leading the Ephs in scoring (20 pts) and steals (3) while handing out a game-high six assists and totaling five rebounds.
