Bates to Host 2023 NESCAC Men's Golf Championship

HADLEY, Mass. – Bates is set to host the 2023 NESCAC Men's Golf Championship for the first time in program history. The 2023 championship will include all 11 NESCAC teams vying for the title in a 36-hole stroke play event at Martindale Country Club in Auburn, Maine on April 29 & 30. 2021-22 NESCAC Championship Recap
The Hamilton Continentals separated themselves from the rest of the field to win the 2022 NESCAC Men's Golf Championship by 12 strokes at Yahnundasis Golf Club (par 71, 6792 yards). Hamilton golfers posted a two-day total of 597 (300-297) to claim the program's fourth NESCAC title and first since 2003. The Hamilton trio of Billy Geach (71-76-147), Jack McKeon (74-74-148), and Jacob Zeng (77-72-149) finished 3-4-5 on the individual leaderboard to help the Continentals clinch the title. 

Tufts finished as the runner-up with a 36-hole total of 609. The Jumbos shaved seven strokes off of their first-round score of 308. Middlebury was third at 613 and followed by Trinity (619) in fourth and Amherst (623) in fifth place. Tufts' Jack Meehan fired a 3-under 68 on Sunday and finished the tournament as the medalist with a two-day total of 143 (75-68).

NESCAC Championship History
Six different programs have won a NESCAC Men's Golf Championship. Williams leads the way with 13 titles (last: 2017). Middlebury owns nine titles (last: 2021) while Amherst has won seven championships (last: 1997). Hamilton won its fourth title in 2022 and Trinity has captured three titles, all since 2010. Wesleyan won the 1987 NESCAC Championship.
