Conn. College to Host 2023 NESCAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships

HADLEY, Mass. – The track & field teams from all 11 NESCAC institutions will convene at Connecticut College's Silfen Field and Track for the 2023 NESCAC Track & Field Championships. The Camels are hosting the event for the first time since 2009. The pole vault (3 p.m. start) and high jump (4:30 p.m. start) will be contested outdoors on Friday, April 28. All other events will be contested on Saturday, April 29 with a 9 a.m. start time.

2022 Championship Recap | Results
Tufts and Middlebury captured the 2022 NESCAC Men's and Women's Track & Field titles, respectively. The Jumbos won their first men's title since 2015 and sixth overall with 177.5 points. Tufts picked up eight first-place finishes, including five in the field events. Williams was the NESCAC Runner-Up with 164 points and Middlebury was third to round out the top three teams in the men's standings. Middlebury claimed its first women's title since 2000 and third overall with 149 points and four first-place finishes to edge Tufts by seven points (142). Bowdoin finished third with 116 points, one point ahead of Williams (115). A total of 10 NESCAC records were broken at the 2022 championship meet.

Championship History
Six schools have won the NESCAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field title, led by Williams with 23 overall. The Ephs' last NESCAC crowns came in 2016 and 2017. Tufts' title in 2022 was the sixth for the Jumbos, while Trinity won four titles between 1984 and 1989. The Bobcats won two championships 12 years apart in 2000 and 2012 and Middlebury won back-to-back NESCAC Championships in 2018 and 2019. Colby claimed the NESCAC title in 1986.

Five programs have won a NESCAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field title. Williams owns 26 crowns and has won 18 of the last 20 titles. The Jumbos have won four NESCAC titles, including three straight from 1986 to 1988 to go along with their most recent championship in 2013. The Panthers' 2022 title marked the third time Middlebury claimed the top spot in the team standings to go along with the championships it won in 1998 and 2000. Bowdoin won back-to-back championships in 1992 and 1993 and Colby claimed the conference titles in 1984 and 1985.
