NESCAC Player of the Week
Sydney Jones – Bowdoin – Jr. – G – Chestnut Hill, Mass.
Jones averaged 16.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 2.0 steals while shooting 50 percent from the floor in a 2-0 week for the Polar Bears. In Bowdoin’s win over Colby, Jones scored 22 points with nine rebounds and seven assists with no turnovers. The junior added 10 rebounds and nine points in a victory over St. Joseph’s (ME).

NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
AmherstLaura Mendell (Westport, Mass.) averaged 15.5 points per game in a 2-0 week for the Mammoths. The sophomore scored a career-high 21 points with four rebounds, three steals, and two assists in a 70-55 win over Wesleyan in a non-conference contest and added 11 points and five assists in a 70-55 win over NJCU.

Bates - Senior captain Morgan Kennedy (Oklahoma City, Okla.) poured in 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Bates to a 58-50 win over Husson on Tuesday. With the Bobcats holding on to a seven-point edge and Husson on a 5-0 run, Kennedy blocked a Husson layup with 55 seconds left. Bates recovered the loose ball and eventually ran out the clock for the victory. It was Kennedy's second blocked shot of the contest. Bates, which stands at 6-0 this season, took the lead for good when Kennedy drilled a three with 9:31 left in the second quarter, breaking a 13-13 tie. Kennedy hit 3-of-7 from long range in the contest.

Colby – Kate Olenik (Medfield, Mass.) extended her string of double-digit scoring performances to seven straight games with 19 points in a win over Maine Maritime and netted 11 points in a setback at Bowdoin in a non-conference matchup. The first-year ranks fourth in the NESCAC with 16.1ppg and leads the conference with 24 steals.  

Conn. CollegeRebecca Oberman-Levine (Hamden, Conn.) averaged 18.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.3 blocks, and 1.0 steals per game last week while leading the Camels to a 2-1 mark. The senior netted a career-high 35 points and added nine rebounds, four assists, and two steals in a road win over Salve Regina. She also had nine points and five boards in a win over Johnson & Wales, and paced Conn with 12 points, five rebounds, and four blocks against NYU. The forward shot 24-for-47 (51.1%) for the week and went 6-for-13 (46.2%) from 3-point range.

Hamilton – Taylor Lambo (Watertown, Mass.) averaged a double-double of 15.6 points and 10.0 rebounds per game while shooting 72.4 percent from the field and added four blocked shots and two steals in a 3-0 week for the Continentals. The sophomore forward started the week with 20 points and 10 rebounds in a 57-37 win at William Smith. Lambo posted 15 points and 14 boards in a 73-50 victory against the University of Maine at Fort Kent, then scored a team-high 12 points and grabbed six rebounds in 11 minutes in a 60-20 triumph against Fisher in Norwich's Ed Hockenbury Classic. Lambo has three double-doubles in eight games this season.

Middlebury –  Alexa Mustafaj (Yonkers, N.Y.) averaged 27.3 points and went a perfect 21-for-21 in free throws in a three-game week for Middlebury. The Panther dropped 36 points in a 68-50 win over Union to start the week and concluded with week with 31 points, going 9-for-9 from the charity stripe to help Middlebury top Wheaton (Mass.) 79-56. The junior leads the NESCAC in scoring (23.5 ppg) and free throw percentage (92.0%). With Mustafaj’s 82 points last week, the Panther moved into fourth place on Middlebury’s all-time scoring list with 1,227 in her career.

Trinity - In a battle with Rhode Island College, Reilly Campbell (Wallingford, Conn.) logged her second double-double of the season with a team-high 24 points and a game-high 10 rebounds during the 60-56 loss. Campbell added another double-double, posting game-highs in points (19) and rebounds (16) during the Bantams’ 70-59 win at Stevens Institute of Technology.

Wesleyan – Olivia Quinn (Franklin, Mass.) averaged 14.0 points on 50 percent shooting from the floor with 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 2.0 assists per game in two contests for the Cardinals last week. The sophomore posted 14 points, 10 rebounds, four steals, and three assists in 30 minutes on Tuesday in a win at York (NY). Quinn followed with 14 points, five rebounds, two steals, and two assists on Saturday in a loss to Amherst in a non-conference tilt.

Williams - Arianna Gerig (Westport, Conn.) averaged 20.0 points, 10.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 1.7 blocks, and 1.7 steals per game during a 3-0 week for the Ephs. The junior poured in a game-high 28 points, going 15-of-18 from the free-throw line (83.3%), in a 70-60 win over visiting Babson on Saturday. Gerig also led all players with 11 rebounds and tied for the game-high with seven assists while the 15 made free throws were a career-high. Gerig added 14 points and a career-high 16 rebounds, to go along with five assists, three steals, and two blocks, in a 53-50 win over visiting Skidmore on Tuesday and dropped a game-high 18 points, with five rebounds and five assists, in a 52-42 win over Wheaton (Mass.) on Friday.
