NESCAC Player of the Week
Shane Regan - Wesleyan - Jr. - G - Larchmont, N.Y.
Regan led the Cardinals to a pair of dominating home wins over Colby-Sawyer and Bridgewater State this week. The junior averaged 23.0 points, 7.5 assists, and 3.5 steals per game on 77.3 percent shooting, 71.4 percent from three, and 87.5 percent from the free throw line in 28.5 minutes per game. Regan started with 18 points (8-11 FG) and seven assists with no turnovers in 28 minutes as Wesleyan defeated the Chargers on Wednesday. The guard followed with a career game in a win over the Bears on Saturday, going off for a career-high 28 points (9-11 FG, 5-6 3FG) with a career-high eight assists against just one turnover with five steals in 29 minutes.
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst –
Will Scherer (Darnestown, Md.) averaged 15.0 points per game and 12.6 rebounds per game in a 2-1 week for the Mammoths. The junior scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in a 73-71 loss to Albertus Magnus, then netted 19 points and 14 rebounds in a 72-67, come-from-behind win at York (N.Y.) before netting eight points and 10 rebounds in a 101-96 overtime win over Westfield State. Scherer shot 58.3 percent (21 for 36) from the floor in the three games.
Bates –
Mark Begin II (Jacksonville, Fla.) scored a game-high 38 points in a thrilling 99-92 overtime win over Colby at home on Saturday in a non-conference contest. The first-year guard poured in the most points in one game for Bates men's basketball since Jeff Spellman '20
also tallied 38 points on Nov. 26, 2017. In addition to his 38 points, Begin II grabbed five rebounds and dished out four assists. He also tallied two steals. Begin II assisted on the eventual game-winning shot, a three-pointer from fellow rookie

Bowdoin - Sophomore
Alex Halpern (New York, N.Y.) led the way with 15 points as a dozen different Polar Bears scored in a 74-51 win over Gordon on Saturday afternoon.
Colby -
Max Poulton (Wellesley, Mass.) led the Mules to two victories on the week tallying 19 points in each game against Bowdoin and Maine-Farmington. Poulton also scored 21 in an overtime setback against Bates where he went 12-for-13 from the free throw line. The sophomore ranks third in the NESCAC with 17.0 points per game.
Conn. College -
David Murray (Jackson Heights, N.Y.) averaged 17.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, 2.0 steals, and 1.5 assists per game last week to lead the Camels to a 2-0 record. The senior posted a team-high 18 points and added eight rebounds and two steals in a win over Emmanuel. Murray then played a key role in Conn's come-from-behind win over Baruch, finishing with game-highs of 16 points, 14 rebounds, five blocks, two steals, and two assists. He shot a combined 14-for-23 (.609) from the floor in the two games and also went 6-for-7 (.857) from the free throw line.
Hamilton -
Teja Singh (Seattle, Wash.) averaged 24.0 points in two wins for the Continentals. Singh poured in a career-high 38 points on 15 of 22 shooting, including 8 of 11 from 3-point range, and added two steals in an 84-77 victory against St. John Fisher. The junior guard scored 10 points in a 60-53 triumph at Utica. Singh's 3-pointer midway through the second half put Hamilton in the lead for good.
Middlebury – Junior
David Brennan (Boston, Mass.) helped lead Middlebury to a 3-0 week, including a pair of overtime victories. In the Panthers’ 80-76 overtime win on Wednesday, Brennan recorded his 11th career double-double with 28 rebounds and 11 points. The 28 boards are the most in Division III to date this season, leading all players by five rebounds. Brennan averaged 20.7 rebounds per game, with a pair of 20+ rebounding efforts. The forward is ranked in the top-four spots in the country in offensive, defensive and total rebounds per game.
Trinity –
Ben Callahan-Gold (New York, N.Y.) racked up 40 points, 14 rebounds, eight blocks and for assists. In an 87-31 drubbing of Mitchell College, Callahan-Gold logged a game-high 15 points, six rebounds and three blocks in the win. The senior followed with a 25-point, eight-rebound, five-block effort in an 84-46 victory over Western New England.
Tufts –
Joshua Bernstein (Miami, Fla.) helped Tufts to a pair of wins against University of Saint Joseph and Keene State to move to 10-0 overall and 8-0 on the road. The sophomore was a huge part of the two wins, chipping in 12.5 points per game on 10-for-16 shooting while adding 7.5 rebounds per game. After 10 points and four boards at USJ on Wednesday, Bernstein posted 15 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks including a lay-up with :01 left to knock off the Owls 65-63.
Williams –
Nate Karren (Sacramento, Calif.) averaged 10.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, 2.0 assists and 0.5 steals per game during a 2-0 week for the Ephs. The senior shot a combined 9-of-16 from the field (56.3%) and 3-for-6 on 3-pointers (50.0%). Karren registered nine points and a career-high five blocks in a 70-65 triumph over visiting SUNY Oneonta Tuesday. He recorded 12 points and a team-leading seven rebounds during a 61-56 win at Springfield Saturday.
