Every Tuesday throughout the swimming & diving season, the NESCAC Performers of the Week will be announced. The men's swimming & diving performer of the week and honor roll performers for December 12 are listed below.
NESCAC Men's Swimming & Diving Performer of the Week
Jay Wilkinson – Tufts – Fy. – Yorktown Heights, N.Y.
During this week's quad meet against Williams, Wesleyan, and WPI, Wilkinson won both diving events with NCAA-qualifying scores of 335.10 points (1-meter) and 292.30 points (3-meter) to help Tufts win the meet. The first-year's performance on the 1-meter board was a 6-dive pool record for the Freeman Aquatic Center.
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Conn. College – Senior
Matthew Laclef (Bethesda, Md.) won the 100 and 200 backstroke against Roger Williams and Trinity on Saturday, posting lifetime-best times of 52.61 seconds and 1:54.04, respectively.
Hamilton – First-year
Nathaniel Taft (Fairfield, Conn.) took first place in the 100 butterfly (51.07) and was a part of two winning relays against Division I Colgate. He posted a time of 24.01 seconds to lead off the 200 medley relay (1:34.68) and touched the wall in 21.29 as the lead leg on the 200 freestyle relay (1:25.72).
Trinity – Graduate student
Quin Woods (Lincoln, Neb.) helped the 200 medley relay to their only win this weekend, splitting 26.57 in the breaststroke leg. He also placed second in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.16) and 200 breaststroke (2:15.30) which are both season bests.
Williams – First-year
Henry Campbell (Andover, Massachusetts) posted an impressive outing for the Ephs this past weekend. Campbell swam the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, and 400 IM. All three of those swims were personal-best times coming in at 22.47, 48,90, and 4:05.33, respectively. Campbell also managed to secure the victory for Williams in the 400 IM.
