NESCAC Player of the Week
Kendall Harris – Hamilton – Fy. – G – Chapel Hill, N.C.
Harris poured in 26 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, handed out four assists, blocked three shots, and made two steals in the Continentals' 61-49 win at SUNY Cortland, in Hamiton's lone game last week. Harris was 8-of-14 from the field, including 4-of-6 from 3-point range, and 6-for-8 at the free-throw line. The first year has recorded two straight double-doubles.
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst –
Kori Barach (Concord, Mass.) posted a double-double (19 points and 12 rebounds) in a 64-57 Mammoth win over Albertus Magnus last week in the only game for the Mammoths. The junior shot 50 percent (7-of-14) from the floor and 50 percent from beyond the arc (4-of-8) while also dishing out five assists and collecting three steals in the victory.
Bates –
Mya Hicks (Ann Arbor, Mich.) scored a team and season-high 12 points in Tuesday's 67-60 win over Southern Maine and paced the Bobcats (along with fellow rookie Sarah Hughes) with nine points and two steals in Sunday's 58-37 win over WPI, matching the newcomer's season-high with three made 3-pointers in five attempts. Bates is 5-0 for the first time since the 2004-05 season. Sunday's win over WPI was the first time the Bobcats have won a game without a Bates player reaching double figures in scoring since at least the 1995-96 season.
Bowdoin – The Polar Bears were idle last week.
Colby –
Amelia Hanscom's (Andover, Mass.) first career double-double led Colby to its 17th straight win over Thomas. The rookie tallied 13 points and 13 rebounds while adding two assists.
Conn. College -
Rebecca Oberman-Levine (Hamden, Conn.) averaged 13.0 points and 3.5 rebounds per game last week for the Camels. Against Division I Army the senior turned in a team-high 13 points and added four blocks and a pair of steals. The forward also led Conn. College to its first win of the season at Eastern Connecticut State, supplying 13 points, six rebounds, and four assists in an 80-42 final.
Middlebury –
Alexa Mustafaj (Yonkers, N.Y.) led Middlebury to a 75-57 victory over VTSU-Castleton in its lone game of the week. The junior led all scorers with 23 points while going 4-for-4 from the free-throw line and added three rebounds, two assists, and a steal. The Panther has recorded double-digit points in 52 of her 54 career contests and scored 20 points or more 36 times. Mustafaj ranks second in the NESCAC with 106 points and 21.2 points per game.
Trinity – Senior
Reilly Campbell (Wallingford, Conn.) netted 18 points with nine rebounds in a 53-38 victory over Coast Guard.
Tufts –
Samantha Sousa (Franklin, Mass.) helped Tufts post a 2-0 week with wins over Colorado College and the University of New England. The senior averaged 16.5 points and 5.0 rebounds, adding a new career-high of 18 points (7-for-8 FG) and chipped in three assists against Colorado College. The senior added a game-high 15 points and nine boards in a road win at UNE. Sousa shot 12-of-18 (66.7%) for the week, making 3-of-5 3-pointers.
Wesleyan – Leading the Cardinals to a 92-73 road win at Clark was
Olivia Quinn (Franklin, Mass.) finished with new career-highs in points (23) and rebounds (11) marking the first double-double of the sophomore's career. The guard also added a season-high four assists.
Williams -
Arianna Gerig (Westport, Conn.) averaged 16.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 3.5 steals in a 1-1 week for the Ephs. The junior finished with a game-high 16 points, shooting 8-of-13 from the field, in an 84-37 victory over visiting Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts on Sunday.
