NESCAC Player of the Week
Sami Quackenbush – Hamilton – Sr. – D – Marshfield, Mass.
Quackenbush had a hand in six of the eight goals the Continentals scored last week, registering six assists and a +3 rating in two wins. The defender had three helpers in a 4-0 shutout of SUNY Morrisville and added three more assists – all primary – in a 4-2 victory against Wesleyan. The assist totals were a career-high for one game for the senior.
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst –
Natalie Stott (Franklin, Mass.) stopped all 35 shots the sophomore faced over two games last week as the Mammoths captured the 16th Annual UMass-Boston Codfish Bowl Championship with wins over the hosts, UMass Boston (1-0) and Bowdoin (4-0). In a 1-0 win over UMass-Boston, Stott made 15 saves, six in the first period. In the championship game, Stott made eight stops in the first period as the Mammoths built a 2-0 lead en route to the victory.
Bowdoin – Senior
Brett Stoddard (Concord, N.H.) scored the game-winner in the third period and sophomore goaltender
Abby Matusovich (New Gloucester, Maine) made 16 saves as Bowdoin defeated Suffolk 2-1 in its opening game of the Codfish Bowl hosted by UMass Boston on Saturday.
Colby -
Grace Caligiuri (Windsor, Conn.) led Colby to two shutout victories to open the season 2-0. The sophomore goaltender, who totaled 32 minutes all of last season, played all 120 minutes in net for the Mules tallying 24 saves against Southern Maine and 19 against SUNY Morrisville.
Conn. College - Senior forward
Sydney Cresta (Swampscott, Mass.) tallied three points on two goals and one assist, as Connecticut College picked up a win and a tie. In the weekend opening tied versus Salve Regina on Saturday, Cresta opened the scoring against the Seahawks just three minutes into the contest. On Sunday, the senior tallied a goal and an assist to lead the Camels to a 4-2 win at Manhattanville. Trailing early in the second period, Cresta found the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1, and with the game tied at 2-2 in the third period, picked up the primary assist on junior
Kate Hagness’ (Madison, Conn.) eventual game-winning goal.
Hamilton –

Middlebury –
Sophia Will (Lancaster, N.Y.) started all three games in goal in a 2-1-0 week for Middlebury. The netminder totaled 39 saves and allowed just three goals. Against Endicott, the sophomore was instrumental in helping the Panthers secure the 1-0 victory, stopping all 16 shots that she faced to earn her second shutout of the year. Will followed up with 14 saves against Plattsburgh State on Sunday. Will has started all five contests for Middlebury, owns a 4-1-0 record, and boasts a .952 save percentage and a 0.81 goals against average, which both rank third in the conference.
Trinity – Junior
Martina Exnerova (Nelahozeves, Czechia) posted two goals and two assists in a 3-0 week for the Bantams. Exnerova potted a goal with an assist in a 4-0 win over Manhattanville and added a goal and an assist in a 4-1 victory against Albertus Magnus.
Wesleyan – Junior
Isabelle Allieri (Wellesley, Mass.) dished out one assist, registered a +1, and led the Cardinals with three shots on goal in a 4-2 loss at Hamilton on Saturday.
Williams – The Ephs were idle last week.
