HADLEY, Mass. – Over 1,480 student-athletes have been named to the 2022 NESCAC Winter All-Academic Team. To be honored, an individual must have reached sophomore academic standing, and be in good standing in their sport with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 or equivalent on a 4.0 scale. Transfers must have completed one year of study at an institution.

Of the student-athletes to garner All-Academic honors this winter, 99 earned both All-Academic and All-NESCAC accolades and 50 individuals were named to both the All-Sportsmanship and All-Academic Teams. Six student-athletes were named to all three squads: Lauren Weil (Amherst Women's Squash), Peter Koenigsbauer (Bates Men's Squash), Henry Issacson (Bowdoin Men's Swimming & Diving), Abby Claus (Tufts Women's Swimming & Diving), Dylan Thoerner (Tufts Men's Basketball), and Nate Tingen (Tufts Men's Swimming & Diving).
The 2022 Winter All-Academic Team includes the NESCAC Players of the Year in women's basketball, men's ice hockey, women's ice hockey, and major award winners from the NESCAC Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships.
Junior Meghan Graff became the sixth Bates player to earn NESCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Year honors. She led Bates its first NESCAC title in program history and the team's first NCAA appearance where the Bobcats reached the second round. Graff, who also earned a spot on the All-NESCAC First Team, finished the year ranking third in the NESCAC in scoring (16.2 ppg) and assists (4.3 apg).
Lucas Michaud, the NESCAC Men's Ice Hockey Player of the Year, led the Trinity Bantams to their sixth NESCAC Championship. He is the fourth Bantam to garner the NESCAC Player of the Year honor which bookends the NESCAC Rookie of the Year award he earned. Michaud also collected his third All-NESCAC honor with a spot on the First Team. He ranks second in the conference in points with 23 on nine goals and 14 assists. He has netted four power-play goals and two game-winning tallies while registering a point in 15 games this season as Trinity heads into an NCAA First-Round matchup at Babson on Saturday.
Middlebury senior Madie Leidt earned her second NESCAC Women's Ice Hockey Player of the Year accolade this season after picking up the honor in 2020. A three-time All-NESCAC First Team selection, she was also named the NESCAC Rookie of the Year earlier in her career. Leidt, who is the ninth Panther to be named the NESCAC Player of the Year, leads the NESCAC in points (29) and is first in goals (17) and game-winning goals (7). She has recorded at least one point in 20 of the 22 games she has played this season. Middlebury, the only unbeaten team in the Division III women's ice hockey, hosts Endicott in an NCAA Quarterfinal game on Saturday.
Senior Jamie Lovette of Williams was named the NESCAC Men's Swimmer of the Year and also collected the NESCAC Men's Career High-Point Swimmer Award. He won three individual titles and was a part of four winning relays during the 2022 championships to help the Ephs claim their third straight NESCAC title with a record-setting 2,086 points. Lovette is the 14th Eph to win the NESCAC Career High-Point Swimmer honor with 370 career points in NESCAC Championship meets.
Junior Kobe Tray was named the NESCAC Men's Diver of the Year honor after winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving titles. He is the first Williams diver to win the honor.
Bowdoin senior Henry Isaacson was the NESCAC Men's Career High-Point Diver honoree. He totaled 149 points in NESCAC Championship meets and is the fourth Bowdoin diver to win the honor.
Amanda Wager of Williams was the NESCAC Women's Swimmer of the Year after winning the 100 and 200 breaststroke events, finishing second in the 50 breaststroke, and contributing to the winning 200 and 400 medley relay squads. The sophomore is the fifth straight Williams swimmer to be named NESCAC Swimmer of the Year.
The 2022 championships marked the fourth straight year a Mammoth won the NESCAC Women's Diver of the Year honor as senior Hannah Karlin garnered the award after winning the 1-meter competition and placing second on the 3-meter board.
Senior Molly Craig of Williams was the NESCAC Women's Career-High Point Swimmer Award winner. She totaled 356 points in NESCAC Championship meets over her career with the Ephs. She was a four-time winner of the 400 IM and captured the NESCAC title in the 200 IM three times.
Middlebury senior Olivia Rieur was the Women's Career High-Point Diver honoree and is the third Panther to earn the honor, joining Alanna Hanson (2008) and Elissa Denunzio (2018).
