NESCAC Trio Earns AHCA All-America Accoldaes

HADLEY, Mass. – Senior Jenna Marotta of Middlebury, junior Allegra Grant of Wesleyan, and sophomore Meghan Halloran of Williams were selected to the 2019 CCM Hockey/AHCA All-America Second Team as chosen by members of the American Hockey Coaches Association. They were among 25 players recognized with All-America accolades.

Marotta was an All-NESCAC First-Team selection and earned her second-straight All-NESCAC selection on the Panther blue line. She earns a spot on the AHCA Second Team for the second year in a row after leading NESCAC defenders with 18 points (4-14-18), which also tied her for second among Middlebury's leading scorers. She anchored a defensive group that led the conference with a 1.35 GAA and posted a .855 penalty kill efficiency. Middlebury finished as the NESCAC Runner-Up this season.

Grant, a goaltender, earns her first All-America accolade. An All-NESCAC First-Team selection, she registered a save percentage of .943 with a goals against average of 2.00. She recorded her 1,500th career save on January 11 and totaled 657 stops for the season. Wesleyan earned a spot in the NESCAC Championship for the third year in a row.

Halloran, an All-NESCAC First Team selection, led Williams to its second NESCAC Championship and the NCAA Quarterfinals. She led the NESCAC in scoring (39 points), goals (20) and assists (19). She also tallied 16 points (8-8-16) on the power-play to lead the top scoring team in the league. Williams defeated defending national champion Norwich in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to earn the program's first NCAA victory. The Ephs finished the year with a school-record 21 wins (21-4-3).
