Williams Wins Fourth Straight NESCAC Women's Golf Championship

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Williams captured the 2018 NESCAC Women’s Golf Championship with a two-day total of 643 (320-323) at the par-71 Ralph Myhre Golf Course on the Middlebury College campus. The Ephs, who have won all four NESCAC Women's Golf titles, led by a stroke after Day 1 and increased their lead to seven in the final round. Amherst placed second overall with a score of 650 (321-329), followed by the host Panthers with a 663 total (326-337).


Junior Chloe Levins of Middlebury captured medalist honors with a pair of 76’s for a two-day total of 152, four strokes better than her opponents. Levins, who began the day in third place, is the first NESCAC women's golfer in the four-year history of the event to earn medalist honors twice. She also earned the honor at the 2016 NESCAC Championship, also played at Ralph Myhre Golf Course.

Senior Cordelia Chan paced Williams with a two-day total of 156 (74-82), followed by a 161 (81-80) from first-year teammate Joanna Kim. Two strokes back was sophomore Holly Davenport (84-79-163), followed by first-year Olivia White (81-85-166) and sophomore Mehr Sawant (87-82-169).

Chan’s score placed her second overall, while Middlebury junior Blake Yaccino (79-81) and Hamilton sophomore Celia Lau (75-85) each carded a score of 160 to tie for third place. Kim rounded out the top five with a 161.
