Williams leads after Day 1 at the NESCAC Championship

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - Williams leads after Day 1 of play at the 2018 NESCAC Women’s Golf Championship at the par-71 Ralph Myhre Golf Course on the Middlebury College campus. The Ephs, the three-time defending champions, shot a 320 on Saturday, one stroke better than Amherst (321), and six strokes ahead of the hosts from Middlebury (326).


Senior Cordelia Chan of Williams, the 2015 NESCAC Championship medalist, led all players on the first day, shooting a 74. First-year teammates Joanna Kim and Olivia White aided the Ephs' effort, each shooting an 81. Hamilton sophomore Celia Lau was second on the individual leaderboard with a 75. Middlebury junior Chloe Levins, the 2016 NESCAC medalist, carded a 76 and stands in third place. Amherst sophomore Isabelle Ouyang and Middlebury junior Blake Yaccino rounded out the top five, each shooting a 79.

The final day of the NESCAC Women's Golf Championship will begin on Sunday at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.
