WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Two-time NESCAC Champion and host Williams holds a one-shot lead over Amherst after Day 1 of NESCAC Women’s Golf Championship held at Taconic Golf Club (par-71; 5,819 yards) in Williamstown, Mass.
The Ephs combined to shot 306 on the day, while the Mammoths shot 307. Middlebury is seven strokes back and sits in third place with a score of 313. Bowdoin is in fourth place (339) and followed by Hamilton in fifth place (340) and Bates in sixth place (405).
Amherst‘s Jessica Jeong carded the low individual score on Day 1, firing a 2-over 73. Williams' Cordelia Chan is one shot back, shooting a 3-over 74.
Tied for third place are Isabelle Ouyang from Amherst and Elizabeth Gudas from Williams. Middlebury teammates Chloe Levins and Helen Dailey posted matching scores of 76 to round out the top five individuals on Day 1.
The final day of the NESCAC Women's Golf Championship will begin on Sunday at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.
