NESCAC Men's Swimming & Diving Championships Day 1 Recap

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The 2019 NESCAC Men's Swimming & Diving Championship kicked off with an exciting 800 freestyle relay race at the Middlebury College Natatorium.

The Williams team of junior Lucca Delcompare, sophomore Henry Marquardt, senior Curtis Maher, and sophomore James Lovette set a new NESCAC record, NESCAC Meet record and Middlebury pool record, combining for a time fo 6:34.03. The Ephs broke the NESCAC record that was established by Amherst in 2011 and the NESCAC Meet record that was set by another Eph relay team last year. Amherst (6:41.63) and Tufts (6:43.73) finished second and third in the race.

The NESCAC Championships begin Day 2 at 10 a.m. on Friday with prelim swims. The preliminary rounds of the 1-meter diving competition are set for 2 p.m. and the finals will begin at 6 p.m. Live results are available at NESCAC.com.
