MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Senior Jordan Bonner of the Wesleyan men's basketball team has been named to the 2019 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Give Back Team, which recognizes men's college basketball student-athletes for outstanding community service.

2019 NABC Give Back Team

The 2019 NABC Give Back Team includes five student-athletes from NCAA Division I and five from NCAA Division II, III, and the NAIA, selected from a group of 63 nominated by college coaches and sports information directors across the country.

Bonner co-founded the Cardinal Community Classic, a 3v3 basketball fundraiser for Wesleyan students and Middletown residents. "Our goal is to support individuals affected by breast cancer in our local community, but in the process, we also provide an exciting space where Middletown residents and Wesleyan students can come together and have a great time," said Bonner.

The event, in its second year, took place on April 28, 2019, and raised more than $4,637 for the Middlesex Health Comprehensive Breast Center in Middletown. In addition to the 3v3 tournament, there was also a 3-point contest, a dunk contest, hot spot shooting, and a half-court shot. Multiple Middletown-based businesses provided raffle prizes and Usdan University Center provided free food and refreshments.
