MEDFORD, Mass. – Thursday night at the NCAA Division III Championship banquet in Iowa, the American Baseball Coaches Association / Rawlings announced its 2019 All-America teams. Tufts senior R.J. Hall was named to the Third Team and was one of 50 players to be honored from across the nation.
Hall was one of five New England Division III players including just three pitchers in the region who were recognized.
In nine starts this spring, Hall finished 8-0 and is one of just 14 pitchers in the nation to have a perfect winning percentage with eight or more decisions. His 1.45 earned run average is ranked 11th nationally and is fifth-best among pitchers with 60 or more innings. He posted a sub-1.00 walks and hits to innings pitched ratio (0.97).
Hall was the ace of the pitching staff on a Jumbo team that finished 31-11, the fourth-most wins in team history. Head coach John Casey's squad won the NESCAC title and advanced to the NCAA Regional Final.
Among many honors earned this spring, Hall was also a D3baseball.com All-American and the NESCAC Pitcher of the Year.
