Every Monday during the season, a NESCAC Player of the Week will be selected based on information submitted by the athletic communications offices at member institutions.
 
NESCAC Volleyball Co-Players of the Week
Sofia Castiglioni – Bates – Sr. – MB – Oakland, Calif.
Castiglioni dominated in the middle in a 3-0 week for the Bobcats, averaging 2.50 kills per set with a hitting percentage of .483. The senior averaged 0.83 blocks per set for the week, including six blocks and 10 kills in Saturday's 3-1 win over Williams. It marked Bates' first win over the Ephs since 1999. Earlier in the week, Castiglioni recorded a season-high 12 kills with a .500 hitting percentage as Bates won a 3-2 thriller over the University of New England. The Bobcats are off to a 7-0 start, keyed by the two best middle blockers in the NESCAC, as Castiglioni (.416) and teammate Anaïs Reneaum (.432) rank second and first, respectively, in the conference in hitting percentage.

Alison Smith – Bowdoin – Jr. – RS – Winnetka, Ill.
In a perfect 4-0 week for the Polar Bears, including a pair of NESCAC wins and a non-conference comeback victory over UMass Boston, Smith averaged 3.50 kills with a .318 hitting percentage. Smith posted a match-high 23 kills in a comeback five-set victory at Conn. College on Friday and a team-best 14 kills in a reverse sweep of UMass Boston on Saturday.
 
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Gabrielle Hines (Chesterfield, Va.) led the Mammoths with 22 kills over two matches last week. The sophomore hit .144 with 30 digs, an assist, two service aces, and five total blocks. Hines had 11 kills in a four-set match versus Middlebury and 11 kills in a five-set match against Hamilton. 
 
Colby – Kendall Glover (Conroe, Texas) led the Mules to two conference wins.  Against Trinity, the sophomore collected nine kills and six blocks while hitting .467. Glover followed up on Saturday with 10 kills and five blocks (hitting .600) in Colby's win over Conn. College. She ranks second in the NESCAC with 1.26 blocks per set. 
 
Conn. College – Rae Wartelle (Tacoma, Wash.) hit .300 and tallied 26 kills and 10 blocks over eight sets as the Camels opened NESCAC play at home. The senior registered a team-high 15 kills and seven blocks in five sets against Bowdoin on Friday. Against No. 2 Colby on Sunday, Wartelle finished with 11 kills and three blocks. 
 
Hamilton – Ayzlinn Trefren (Simi Valley, Calif.) hit .262 with 22 digs and 28.5 points in a 1-1 road weekend for the Continentals. Trefren posted 12 kills, 17 digs, two assists, and one block assist in a five-match victory at Amherst. The junior added 14 kills, five digs, and two aces in a three-set loss at No. 10 Wesleyan. Trefren went over 300 career kills against the Cardinals and collected her 12th career double-double in the win against the Mammoths.
 
Middlebury – Senior Gabby Pribisich (Cleveland, Ohio) had a history-making output over a 2-1 week for the Panthers, recording 18 kills and a .421 hitting percentage. Pribisich registered a season-high 11 successful swings, a .688 attacking percentage, and five blocks to help seal a 3-1 victory over Amherst. The middle blocker surpassed 200 career blocks versus the Mammoths.
 
Trinity – Emma Ewart (San Diego, Calif.) was Trinity’s most productive attacker across the three matches and contributed 38 kills (3.17 per set), 32 digs (2.67 per set), and five aces over the three-game week. Against No. 2 Colby, Ewart finished with a team-high 14 kills and added 15 digs. On Saturday, the Bantams hosted Bowdoin and UMass Boston for the Trinity Tri-Match. Ewart hit .324 with eight kills, eight digs, two blocks against Bowdoin and five aces, nine digs, and 16 kills with a .324 hitting percentage versus UMass Boston.
 
Wesleyan – Carly Grumet (Orange County, Calif.) played the best match of her career on Saturday, recording career-highs in both kills (13) and service aces (5) in a three-set sweep of Middlebury. Grumet added five kills in one set played in a sweep of Hamilton and totaled 18 kills in four sets (4.5 kills per set) with a .368 attack percentage for the week. Grumet hit .364 on Friday and .370 on Saturday while adding seven digs on Saturday and had 15 receptions throughout the weekend with no errors. 
 
Williams – Kate Lane (Kentfield, Calif.) helped lead Williams to a 2-1 week, earning victories over Vassar and No. 17 Tufts in five sets before falling to Bates in four sets to close out the weekend. Against Vassar, Lane recorded a career-high 22 kills while tying her career high with 16 digs to post her second double-double of the season. The junior also hit an impressive .513 in the five-set victory. Against No. 17 Tufts, Lane contributed nine kills, 15 digs, three blocks, and four service aces to help the Ephs secure another five-set victory. Over three matches, Lane totaled 36 kills, 32 digs, six blocks, and five service aces. She leads Williams with 84 kills through 34 sets this season.
