NESCAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week
Maren Jones – Tufts – Jr. – M – Mill Valley, Calif.
The Jumbos went 1-0-2 in three NESCAC matchups last week. Maren Jones (Mill Valley, Calif.) led Tufts with two goals and two assists. The junior scored the first goal of the game and tallied an assist in a 2-0 shutout over No. 6 Wesleyan on Tuesday. In a 2-2 draw versus Connecticut College on Saturday, Jones dished out an assist from a corner kick on the Jumbos' second and final goal of the contest. In a 1-1 tie against Trinity on Sunday, the midfielder buried a game-tying marker in the 79th minute to help Tufts remain unbeaten.
 
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Jessica Lomo (Accra, Ghana) scored twice in the Mammoths' 4-0 win over Springfield last week, a 1-1-0 week for Amherst. The senior leads the team with four goals to date.
 
Bates – Izzy Rudders (Williamsburg, Va.) scored the first goal of her collegiate career on Saturday as the Bobcats defeated the University of Southern Maine 1-0. The first-year’s goal came in the 32nd minute. Rudders is the third different Bates rookie to find the back of the net through four matches this season.
 
Bowdoin – Junior Kayley Huleatt (Rifton, N.Y.) had a goal and an assist in a midweek win for the Polar Bears at the University of New England.
 
Colby – Senior Abigail Jarvi's (Gilford, N.H.) goal midway through the second half helped Colby beat No. 13 Williams, 1-0, on Saturday.  With 78 minutes played against Williams and another 61 minutes of action in Sunday's win over Conn. College the forward was on the field for over 77 percent of the time.
 
Conn. College - Junior goalkeeper Maia Kafer (Philadelphia, Pa.) led Conn. College against two nationally ranked opponents last week. On Saturday at No. 2 Tufts, Kafer recorded a career-high nine saves, as the Camels rallied from a 2-0 deficit to earn a 2-2 tie. Kafer followed that up with another solid performance, adding seven saves as Conn. College came up just short at No. 21 Colby on Sunday. The junior finished the week facing 50 shots across 180 minutes of action, making 16 saves.
 
Hamilton – Lila Sullivan (Charlestown, Mass.) scored the first and third goals in the Continentals' 3-0 win at Trinity. It was Hamilton's first victory in Hartford since 2019. Sullivan added a shot on goal in a 1-1 tie at Middlebury. The sophomore has five goals, including two game-winners, in four NESCAC matches.
 
Middlebury – Junior Fiona Linnau (Seattle, Wash.) was a factor in both contests in a 1-0-1 weekend for the Panthers. The midfielder scored the lone goal in the 30th minute off a penalty kick to secure a 1-0 road win over Amherst before adding a shot on target in 66 minutes of action in a 1-1 draw with Hamilton. 
 
Wesleyan – Maggie di Rienzo (Santa Monica, Calif.) didn't allow a goal in her two appearances last week, making 12 saves in 135 minutes. The sophomore started with three saves while playing the second half of a Tuesday night game against Tufts. She followed that with a nine-save shutout, including six stops in the second half alone, in a 4-0 win at Bowdoin in her first career start on Saturday.
 
Williams – Sophomore midfielder Lucy Carrel (Bellevue, Wash.) scored her second collegiate game-winning goal in the 70th minute in a 1-0 win at Bowdoin on Sunday.
