NESCAC Field Hockey Player of the Week
Isabelle Nahon – Hamilton – Sr. – D – Westport, Conn.
Nahon finished a 2-0 week with two goals and two assists for the Continentals. In a 2-1 double-overtime win against No. 10 Bates, Nahon had the assist on Hamilton's first goal early in the fourth quarter and scored the game-winner 1:39 into the second overtime period off a penalty corner. The senior added another goal and an assist in a 4-0 victory against RPI.
 
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Senior Genevieve Caruso (Greenwich, Conn.) scored both Amherst goals in a 2-0 win over Springfield last week, a 1-1 week for the Mammoths.
 
Bates – Rookie Sammy Logan (Mansfield, Mass.) scored the equalizer and the game-winner as the Bobcats rallied from a 2-0 deficit with just over four minutes remaining in regulation to stun Bowdoin 3-2 in overtime on Wednesday. Logan collected the rebound off a shot that hit the post and scored her first collegiate goal in the 57th minute of action, tying the score at 2-2. She collected another rebound, this time off a shot that got turned away by the Bowdoin keeper, scoring the game-winner in the 64th minute as the Bobcats defeated the Polar Bears for the sixth straight time.
 
Bowdoin – Junior forward/midfield Charlotte Crawford (Weston, Mass.) led the Bowdoin offense with a goal and two assists in a NESCAC split last week, falling 3-2 to Bates in overtime on Wednesday before shutting out Amherst 3-0 on Saturday. Crawford had two assists against the Bobcats and her first goal of the season against the Mammoths. Junior goalkeeper Eva Filipponi (Wilton, Conn.) had three saves in her first shutout of the season Saturday. Senior Emily Ferguson (Shrewsbury, Mass.) continued to lead the team with a goal in each game last week, bringing her total to four goals on the year. Junior midfielder Hannah Balmelli (Lake Forest, Ill.) added a goal and an assist in the two games.
 
Colby – Junior Christina Sweeney (Milton, Mass.) tallied two goals and an assist in Colby's 9-0 season-opening win against Husson.  The nine goals marked the most in a game for the Mules since the 2023 season. 
 
Conn. College – Maddie Mason (Brentwood, N.H.) had a big week as the Camels split a pair of games. She netted the game-winning goal on a penalty stroke with 3:27 remaining in regulation, giving Conn. College a 3-2 win over Roger Williams in its home opener. The senior also recorded a career-high three defensive saves against No. 5 Middlebury to keep the Camels in the game. 
 
Middlebury – Emma McCann (Needham, Mass.) scored both of Middlebury’s tallies in a 2-0 victory over Connecticut College to begin the NESCAC schedule. The goals pushed her career total to 10 and the Panthers registered their 15th consecutive conference opening win.
 
Trinity – Riley Harrington (Longmeadow, Mass.) finished the Bantams’ 2-1 weekend with three goals and one assist. In a 6-1 win over Smith, Harrington notched a goal and an assist. The junior added one goal in a 3-2 setback to Williams and closed the week with the game-winning goal in a 2-1 double-overtime victory over Skidmore.
 
Tufts – Eleanor Helm (Loudonville, N.Y.) scored seven points with three goals and one assist in Tufts' 5-0 win over Colby at home on Saturday, figuring in four of the Jumbos' five goals on the day. For the second time in two NESCAC games this season, the sophomore scored the first goal of the game, eight minutes into the contest, to get the Jumbos going. She assisted junior Riley Schmidt’s (Owings Mills, Md.) goal with 3:25 left in the first quarter to make it 2-0 and added two goals in the second half to complete her hat trick.
 
Wesleyan – Keira O'Flynn (West Chester, Pa.) made saves on all six shots she faced in goal across two wins for Wesleyan in the opening week of the year for the Cardinals. O'Flynn made one stop in a season-opening 3-0 win at WPI and followed with a five-save shutout win as the Cardinals secured a 1-0 road win at Vassar. That win over the Brewers marked the first win in O'Flynn's career. 
 
Williams – First-year defender Hannah Herlihy (Andover, Mass.) recorded five points on a pair of goals and one assist in a 2-0 week for the Ephs. Herlihy scored both goals, including her first collegiate goal and the game-winning tally, to lead the No. 7-ranked Ephs past No. 6 Babson, 2-0, on Thursday. Herlihy assisted on the game-winner in a 3-2 win at Trinity on Saturday.
