NESCAC Softball Player of the Week
Sarah LaFond – Middlebury – Jr. – C/OF – San Marcos, Calif.
LaFond excelled at the plate, going 8-for-13 with 10 runs batted in and three runs scored in a 4-0 week. In Game 2 against Vermont State University Castleton, the junior went 2-for-3 with four runs batted in to help seal a 14-4 victory in five innings. LaFond kept her hot streak going in a key doubleheader sweep of Wesleyan, logging three hits and four RBI. The junior’s performance against the Cardinals helped seal the No. 2 seed in the NESCAC Tournament for the second time in the last three seasons.

NESCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week
Sophia Meade – Colby – So. – Guilford, Conn.
Meade posted a 0.00 ERA, recorded her first career no-hitter, and earned her ninth and 10th wins of the season last week. The sophomore twirled a midweek gem against Bates, holding the Bobcats hitless in a complete game, 2-0 win. Meade also topped Colby's other in-state rival when she came on in relief to throw 5.1 innings without allowing an earned run in Colby's extra-inning victory over Bowdoin.  The sophomore totaled 13 strikeouts in 12.1 innings last week.

NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Bates – Maddy Miller (Norway, Maine) went 3-for-8 at the plate with a slugging percentage of .625 in a 3-1 week for the Bobcats. The sophomore went 1-for-1 with a run scored and an RBI in a win over No. 19-ranked Colby, and 2-for-5 with a run scored and a triple in a doubleheader sweep of Trinity as the Bobcats clinched the No. 7 seed in the NESCAC Tournament … Isabella Albro (New York, N.Y.) won back-to-back starts in a 3-1 week for the Bobcats. The junior surrendered three runs in 15 innings pitched on the week. Albro started the week by scattering six hits in a complete-game victory over No. 19-ranked Colby as the Bobcats prevailed, 4-2. The righthander followed up by throwing a season-high 123 pitches in a 2-1 eight-inning win over Trinity. Albro once again scattered six hits in her second straight complete game as the Bobcats clinched the No. 7 seed in the upcoming NESCAC Tournament. Albro's performances lowered her ERA to 2.74 on the season and she leads the team with five wins. The Bobcats have won 17 games this season, their most since 2018. 

Colby – Carissa Cassidy (Columbus, Ind.) collected eight more hits this week to add to her four-year total of 184, building on her Colby record for career hits (next closest is 148). The senior accounted for both runs in a 2-0 win over Bates, going 4-for-4 at the dish, driving in a run and scoring the other. Cassidy also scored three times against Bowdoin, adding to her Colby career record of 113 runs scored across her four years (next closest is 87). Cassidy has hit safely in the last 12 games with a total of 25 hits.

Hamilton – Nikki Dyche (Albuquerque, N.M.) hit .467 (7-for-15) with five runs batted in, five runs scored, two doubles, and two home runs in four games. Dyche also handled 11 chances at third base and shortstop without an error. In a 10-7 win against No. 11-ranked Tufts, the sophomore singled, homered, drove in two runs, and scored two more … Aubrey Purvis (San Diego, Calif.) picked up the win in relief in the Continentals' 10-7 victory over Tufts on Saturday. Purvis struck out two batters in 3.2 innings pitched for the junior's third win this season.

MiddleburyMcKenna Lont (Wyckoff, N.J.) logged a 0.88 ERA over two appearances in the circle for the Panthers. In her relief appearance against Castleton, Lont surrendered four hits over two innings and struck out one to help seal a 14-4 victory in the second game of a doubleheader. The senior closed out the week with her ninth win of the season, going six innings and allowing four hits and one run while striking out three Wesleyan batters in a 9-1 victory in six innings. 

Tufts – Tufts secured the No. 1 seed in the NESCAC Championship over the weekend by winning three of four games against Hamilton and Williams. Ella Malin (Tampa, Fla.) batted .500 (6-12) with two triples, six runs batted in, and four runs scored for the week. At Hamilton, Malin tripled and scored in Game 1, then hit a bases-loaded triple in Game 2. In the second game against Williams, the rookie went 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI, including an RBI base hit and run scored during a six-run bottom of the sixth, which turned a 6-3 Tufts deficit into an eventual 9-6 victory. The outfielder made 16 putouts in the four games last week.

Williams – Senior Sidney Miller (Miramar, Fla.) went a combined 6-for-15 batting, with six RBI, two runs, one homer, and one double, in a 2-2 week for the Ephs … In Game 1 of a doubleheader versus Amherst, Natalie Carter (Wildomar, Calif.) earned the win, pitching the final four innings without giving up a run and allowing just one hit in a 10-3, nine-inning.
