NESCAC Softball Player of the Week
Kristyn Carroll – Middlebury – Sr. – OF – Kinnelon, N.J.
Carroll went 10-for-18 at the plate in a 5-1 week for the Panthers. The senior had three multi-hit games in the stretch, headlined by a 3-for-3 effort with two doubles and three runs batted in a 10-2 victory in five innings over Keene State. Carroll also crossed the plate nine times and swiped four bases. She sits near the top of the conference in multiple offensive categories, including slugging percentage (.833), batting average (.528), hits (38), and runs (27)

NESCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week
Abby Moravek – Amherst – Sr. – Libertyville, Ill.
Moravek threw a two-hit shutout in a 3-0 win over Wesleyan on Saturday, striking out a career-high 13 batters while walking just three. In the process, the senior surpassed the 250-strikeout milestone for her career, going from 246 to 259. It was her first shutout of the season. Amherst was 1-1 for the week.

NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Sophomore Lauren Ro (Simi Valley, Calif.) batted .857 (6-7) for the week with one RBI and one run scored as the Mammoths went 1-1 with a split against Wesleyan. Ro leads the Mammoths with a .500 batting average this season.

Bates – Maya Lee (Wayland, Mass.) hit .462, slugged .615, and posted an on-base percentage of .500 over four games last week for the Bobcats. The junior scored five runs, tripled, and stole four bases … Delaney Rankin (Harrison, Maine) allowed just one run on two hits in 3.1 innings pitched out of the bullpen on Friday against Brandeis, striking out three batters along the way. The senior lowered her ERA to a team-best 2.22 with a quality start Saturday at Bowdoin, surrendering one earned run in six innings pitched.

Bowdoin – Senior Anika Ewert (Newport Coast, Calif.) batted .750 as the Polar Bears went 3-1 against Tufts and Bates over the weekend. The outfielder reached base in 12 of 14 plate appearances, scoring nine runs, earning six walks, and stealing three bases. Ewert currently leads Division III in batting (.696) this season … Senior Maddie Current (Lutherville Timonium, Md.) tossed a complete game, striking out eight, and allowing just five hits and one earned run in a 4-1 victory over Bates on Saturday.

Colby – Caroline DeSimone (Hopkinton, Mass.) collected a hit in all four games last week, including a pair of two-hit performances in a split against Tufts. The junior’s second home run of the week broke a 1-1 tie with the Jumbos in the bottom of the first of Game 2 to propel the Mules to a 4-1 victory. DeSimone batted .555 on the week, scoring four runs while driving in four more … Sharlotte Stazinski (Walpole, Mass.) collected two wins in the circle for the Mules. The rookie hurled a 5.0-inning complete game against the University of Maine Farmington without allowing an earned run, while her second victory was a complete-game effort in a 4-1win in Game 2 versus Tufts. With the win over the Jumbos, Stazinski becomes the first Colby pitcher to earn victories over two ranked opponents in the same season. 

Hamilton – Senior Sofia Santana (Southwest Ranches, Fla.) had two hits, scored a run, and drew a walk in a 9-7 setback in 10 innings against Williams. Santana's two-run single in the bottom of the eighth tied the score, 7-7. The senior added an infield single in the second game against the Ephs. Santana singled and stole a base in a 6-2 loss to Ithaca and drove in a run and swiped a base in a 4-1 loss at Middlebury. Santana handled 11 chances in the outfield without an error … Yael Everett (Ridgefield, Conn.) had a 3.42 ERA in three appearances that covered 14.1 innings for the Continentals. Everett allowed two earned runs in five innings of a 3-2 setback at Middlebury. The sophomore gave up four earned runs and struck out five in a career-high 8.2 innings of a 9-7 loss to Williams that went 10 innings.

MiddleburyEmily Dowd (Fairfield, Conn.) went 2-0 with a save over four appearances in the circle. The Panther opened the slate by allowing five hits and two runs over five innings of work in a 10-2 five-inning win over Keene State. Dowd also matched her career high with nine strikeouts in the victory. In her first NESCAC action against Hamilton, the right-hander went the distance for the fifth time this season, surrendering only six hits and two runs to seal a 3-2 victory over the Continentals. Dowd made an appearance in both matchups against Trinity, logging four innings and five strikeouts. Her top performance came in Game 2 against the Bantams, as she went three frames to tally the first save of her Panther career. Dowd currently leads the team with a 1.82 earned run average over 11 appearances.

Tufts – Heaven Oliva (Ventura, Calif.) hit .615 (8-13) with a home run, double, four RBI, and three runs scored in four NESCAC games last week for Tufts. The junior’s two-run home run in the top of the 10th inning at Colby on Saturday led the Jumbos to a Game 1 victory. Oliva finished the game 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. At Bowdoin on Friday, the catcher was 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI singles in a 10-2 six-inning victory in Game 1. She also threw out Bowdoin speedster Anika Ewert, trying to steal in Game 1. Oliva had hits in all four games and walked twice for a .667 on-base percentage. Her slugging percentage for the week was a .923 mark. 

Wesleyan – Kelly Baker (Staten Island, N.Y.) went 4-for-10 at the plate with two RBI and two walks, recording a .500 on-base percentage in four games last week. The senior went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs in a 4-2 win over Coast Guard, then had one hit and one walk in both ends of Saturday's doubleheader at Amherst.

Williams – Sidney Miller (Miramar, Fla.) recorded at least one hit in 7-of-8 games last week for the Ephs, as the team went a perfect 8-0. The senior went 2-for-4, with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, in Game 1 of a doubleheader at Trinity Friday. Miller finished 2-for-3, with two RBI and one run, in Game 2 at Hamilton Saturday … In three complete-game efforts, Katie Blanch (Rye, N.Y.) pitched two shutouts and did not allow an earned run for a 3-0 record in the circle for the Ephs. In Game 2 at Hamilton Saturday, the junior earned the complete-game, six-inning victory, giving up no runs, no walks, and only two hits. In a 2-1 triumph in Game 2 at Trinity, Blanch struck out 10 batters in the seven-inning, complete-game victory, as she only allowed three hits, one walk, and no earned runs. Blanch started the week with a four-hit shutout with six strikeouts in a 5-0 win over LaVerne.
