NESCAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
Jarrel Okorougo – Trinity – Sr. – F – Stoneham, Mass.
Okorougo propelled the second-ranked Bantams to their third straight NESCAC Men's Basketball Championship after averaging 17.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.5 steals, a block, and an assist on Trinity's run to the title. In the championship game win over Wesleyan, Okorougo helped ignite a second-half comeback with 11 straight points out of the break to hand Trinity a 41-35 lead, finishing with a team-high 20 points, five rebounds, and two steals en route to the 80-55 win. The senior captain tallied 14 points with a game-high nine rebounds in an 80-70 victory over Tufts in the semifinals. Trinity is just the second team in NESCAC Championship history to win three consecutive titles (Amherst: 2012, 2013, 2014).
