NESCAC Player of the Week
Jacob Osborne – Bowdoin – So. - G – Gloucester, Ontario
Osborne helped the Polar Bears sweep a NESCAC weekend, including handing Hamilton its first conference loss. Osborne made 25 stops, allowing just one power play goal, in a 2-1 win over the Continentals on Friday. On Saturday, the sophomore posted a 29-save shutout as Bowdoin claimed a 3-0 win over Amherst. For the weekend, the sophomore netminder recorded a 0.50 goals against average and .981 save percentage.
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst –
Oliver Flynn (Berlin, Conn.) scored a goal and had an assist in the Mammoths’ 4-2 win at Colby in a 1-1-0 week. The junior assisted Amherst’s second goal and scored the game-winner with 7:37 remaining in the game, giving Amherst a 3-2 lead.
Colby – Sophomore
Colby Browne (Evergreen, Colo.) tallied three goals in a two-game set last weekend. The NESCAC's leading scorer netted both Colby goals on Friday night against Amherst, and his first-period goal in Saturday's matchup with Hamilton sent the Mules into the first intermission with a one-goal lead.
Conn. College - Junior forward
Shane Zarcone (Huntington, N.Y.) led Conn. College in a weekend series against Tufts. On Friday, Zarcone scored with four minutes left in the first period, to give Conn a 2-0 lead, while adding seven face-off wins. On Saturday, Zarcone added six face-off wins to finish the weekend with 13.
Hamilton –
Justin Biraben (Kingston, Ontario) registered five points in two road games for the Continentals. Biraben scored two goals and added two assists for a career-high four points as Hamilton rallied for a 7-4 win at Colby. The junior added a helper in a 2-1 setback at No. 12 Bowdoin.
Middlebury –
Revy Mack (Anchorage, Alaska) was a key contributor in a crucial conference weekend slate for the Panthers. The junior tallied the first assist on Middlebury’s goal that sparked three unanswered tallies in less than seven minutes to preserve a tie with Trinity. Mack added a goal and two assists in the Panthers 5-2 triumph over Wesleyan. The forward is tied for second on the team with six markers and leads the team in plus/minus at +9.
Trinity –
Ryan Panico (Southport, Conn.) posted four points with two goals and two assists in a 1-0-1 week for the Bantams. In a 5-5 tie at Middlebury, Panico potted back-to-back goals in the second period to regain a 2-1 lead for Trinity, and added an assist on the Bantams fourth tally of the game. The sophomore delivered an assist in a 3-1 win at Williams.
Tufts –
Brendan Fennell (Melrose, Mass.) collected a goal and two assists in a weekend sweep over Connecticut College. In a two-goal comeback victory on Friday, Fennell picked up a helper on the Jumbos opening tally and dished out another assist on the game-winning goal with 12:36 remaining. The senior buried the second Jumbos goal in a 3-0 shutout over the Camels on Saturday. Fennell leads Tufts and is second in the NESCAC in assists with 16.
Williams – Junior
Harrison Fogel (Sandy Springs, Ga.) equaled a career-high with 37 saves and registered a .974 save percentage in a 4-1 triumph over Little Three-rival Wesleyan on Friday.
