NESCAC Women's Soccer Weekly Release - Oct. 5, 2026

Every Monday during the season, a NESCAC Player of the Week will be selected based on information submitted by the athletic communications offices at member institutions.

NESCAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week
Eleanor Martin – Bates – Jr. – F – Oilville, Va.
Martin scored twice in Wednesday’s 3-0 win over Bowdoin. It was the Bobcats’ first win over the Polar Bears since 2005, the largest margin of victory in the series for Bates since 1998, and the most goals the Bobcats have scored in a NESCAC match since 2021. The junior followed up with another goal in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Trinity. Martin's five goals this season tie for the team lead and rank third in the NESCAC. Her three tallies last week are the first three goals she's scored against NESCAC opponents in her career. Last week’s results marked the first time since 2017 that Bates posted back-to-back wins in NESCAC matches. Martin and first-year Whitney Ladich (Scottsdale, Ariz.) are the first pair of Bates women's soccer teammates to both score at least five goals in a season since Julia Rosen and Dakota Donovan in 2014.

NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Ani Populoh (Clifton, Va.) scored the lone Mammoth goal in a 1-0 win over Emerson last week, a 1-1 week for the Mammoths. It was the sophomore’s second goal of the season.

Colby – Senior forward Amanda Schneider (Boxford, Mass.) scored crucial goals in both matches to help Colby earn a win and a draw last week. On Wednesday at WPI, Schneider broke a scoreless tie in the 30th minute by netting the game-winner in a 3–0 shutout victory. She carried that momentum into the weekend against NESCAC foe Middlebury, stepping onto the pitch and scoring in the 35th minute to ignite Colby’s comeback from a 2–0 deficit in an eventual 2-2 tie. Schneider finished the week with two goals on just three shots.

Conn. College - First-year forward Danica Zicha (Belmont, Mass.) led Conn. College across two games last week. On Wednesday night at Johnson and Wales, Zicha tallied the Camels’ lone goal and added four shots.

Hamilton –  Junior Kate Giglio (Westfield, N.J.) recorded assists in a 2-0 win against St. Lawrence and a 2-1 victory over Wesleyan and is one of the NESCAC leaders with five. Senior Olivia Connolly (Washington, D.C.) made five saves in the win against St. Lawrence and allowed a goal for the first time this season (505-plus minutes) in the triumph over the Cardinals. Keira Nyarady (Irvington, N.Y.) netted the first goal of the junior's career in the win against the Saints.

Middlebury – In a 2-2 draw versus No. 8 Colby, senior Chloe Swindle (Marin, Calif.) assisted Middlebury’s first goal in the 25th minute and tallied the second goal about five minutes later to help build a 2-0 lead. Swindle’s three-point performance marks her fifth multi-point outing in a Middlebury uniform.

Trinity – Sophomore Addie Covey (Sausalito, Calif.) was instrumental to the Bantams' 3-1 victory over sixth-ranked Wesleyan, logging a pair of assists. Less than a minute into the contest, Covey raced down the sideline and delivered a cross to junior Iva Carton (Locust, N.J.) for the finish, logging the fastest goal in Bantams women's soccer history (50 seconds). Covey also assisted on junior Taylor Troskey’s (Milwaukee, Wis.) game-winning goal in the ninth minute. Covey ranks fifth in the NESCAC with four assists this season.

Tufts – Tufts earned two road victories in a pair of NESCAC matchups last week against Amherst and Hamilton. Senior Waverly Sumner (Dover, Mass.) scored once in each game and put four shots on net across the two games. In a 3-1 win over the Mammoths, Sumner scored the second Jumbo goal to put Tufts ahead 2-1 in the 27th minute. In a 3-0 shutout win versus the Continentals, the forward picked the top right corner of the net for Tufts' third and final tally, giving her five markers on the season.

Williams – Junior Greta Pew (Peapack, N.J.) recorded three assists, including one on the game-winning goal in the 16th minute, in a 6-0 triumph against Conn. College on Saturday at Cole Field.
