NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Jadon Davis (White Plains, Md.) had career highs in receptions (9), yards (144) and touchdowns (2) in the Mammoths' 23-22 come-from-behind win over Middlebury. The sophomore caught a 13-yard scoring strike in the first quarter to give Amherst a 7-0 lead, then made a spectacular, juggling 49-yard TD reception in the fourth quarter to give Amherst a 16-14 lead. Davis also caught two passes during Amherst's game-winning drive … Carson Skotak (Houston, Texas) led the Mammoths with five tackles (4 solo) and one for loss, in a 23-22 win over Middlebury Saturday.

Bates – Samuel Christopher (Los Angeles, Calif.) broke up four passes at Williams, the most pass breakups in one game by a Bobcat since 2017. The junior also recorded three total tackles, with two solo stops. Christopher’s five passes defended this year is tied for second in the NESCAC … Marcos Ruiz (Haskell, N.J.) once again filled in at punter for the Bobcats and forced Williams to make four fair catches while pinning the Ephs inside their own 20 once. The senior averaged 31.86 yards per punt, with a long of 36.

Bowdoin – Polar Bear senior kicker Caden Perry (Houston, Texas) converted two field goals (36 and 41 yards) to keep Bowdoin within striking distance in a loss at Tufts, while adding three punts for an average of 41.7 yards and two inside the 20.

Colby – Sean Trinder (Fair Haven, N.J.) proved to be a reliable weapon for the Mules on offense in a road battle against undefeated Wesleyan. In the fourth quarter, Trinder caught a 4-yard touchdown pass to cap a 6-play, 49-yard scoring drive, bringing the Mules within one score,14–7, and keeping Colby in contention late. The touchdown was the senior's first of his career. Trinder led all Colby receivers with four catches for 35 yards … Lincoln Merrill (West Paris, Maine) anchored Colby’s defense against Wesleyan. Merrill led all players with 15 total tackles (including a tackle for loss), spearheading a defense that forced three turnovers and held a high-powered Wesleyan offense in check for much of the afternoon. The senior’s relentless pursuit and sideline-to-sideline tackling constantly disrupted Wesleyan's rhythm, helping keep the game within a single score late into the fourth quarter.

Hamilton – Mitchell Ivatts (Barrington, R.I.) led the Continentals with 12 catches for 68 yards in their 37-6 setback at Trinity. Ivatts leads all of Division III with 11.75 receptions per game … Senior Mat Bucher (Half Moon Bay, Calif.) tied a career high with 13 tackles, including eight solo stops, against the Bantams. Middlebury – Connor McClellan (Columbus, Ohio) tallied 60 yards and three touchdowns versus Amherst. The junior also caught two passes for 22 yards. His three touchdowns put him one away from breaking a 52-year program record for career rushing touchdowns and marked his third game with three or more touchdowns. McClellan leads the NESCAC with eight rushing touchdowns through four games … Senior Matt Shaw (North Andover, Mass.) paced the Middlebury defense with 14 tackles (6 solo) and a pass breakup against Amherst. It was Shaw’s sixth career game with double-digit tackles. The senior leads the NESCAC with 45 total tackles and 11.3 stops per contest … Junior Ty Brinkmann (Brentwood, Tenn.) averaged 33.2 yards on five punts with a long of 44 against Amherst.

O'Brien ranks third in the NESCAC in receptions (25) and fourth in receiving yards (325) … Junior Marshall Rice (Milton, Mass.) logged his first career pick-six, undercutting a pass from Luke Kurzum in the final minute of the first half, and returning the ball 36 yards for paydirt, extending the Trinity lead to 31-6. Rice added three tackles en route to the 37-6 victory.

Tufts – Junior Ryan Horigan (Pleasantville, N.Y.) posted eight tackles, including one for loss, in a 20-13 win. Horigan was part of a defense that allowed 193 total yards … Senior defensive back Ben Frisoli (Westwood, Mass.) made a pivotal play in the 20-13 win over Bowdoin. Down 13-10 with less than four minutes to play, Frisoli blocked a Bowdoin punt out of the back of the end zone for a safety, making the score 13-12. On the ensuing drive, Tufts scored with nine seconds to complete the comeback. Frisoli added a tackle as well on special teams.

Wesleyan – Donte Kelly (Meriden, Conn.) was dynamic throughout in a 21-7 home win over Colby as the sophomore wideout finished with nine catches for 114 yards against the Mules. The 114 yards is a season high, and it marked his fourth career 100-yard game.

Williams – After making a brief appearance in a loss at Trinity last week, first-year quarterback Drew Weiler (Lake Oswego, Ore.) got the starting nod against Bates. The rookie completed 14-of-28 passes for 219 yards and ran for 37 more, including a 13-yard touchdown run to start the scoring in a 34-0 victory over the Bobcats. Weiler guided the Ephs to a season-high 404 yards of offense (their most since playing Bates last year) and kept Williams in control all afternoon … Junior Will Gale (Falmouth, Maine) was integral to Williams' shutout of Bates. The defensive tackle recorded seven tackles, four solo, with 2.5 tackles for a loss and two sacks, one on the first Bobcat drive of the game and the other on the first Bates drive of the third quarter, setting the tone for each half. Gale also had a quarterback hurry, harassing the Bobcats all afternoon. The Ephs have registered a shutout in each of the last four seasons … Senior Leonardo Maiuolo (San Jose, Calif.) recorded a career-high nine points to the 34-0 Williams blanking of Bates with two field goals (21 and a career-long 34-yarder) and three PATs in as many attempts.
