Hamilton College Welcomes Kristine Fowler as New Athletic Director

CLINTON, N.Y. – Hamilton College announced the appointment of Kristine R. Fowler as the college's next athletic director and chair of the physical education department, effective March 2, 2026.

Fowler brings an unparalleled level of expertise and more than 25 years of extensive, impactful experience in intercollegiate athletics administration, coupled with exceptional leadership and engagement skills.

Fowler steps into the role of athletic director following the retirement of Jon Hind, a member of Hamilton's class of 1980, who served as athletic director for almost two decades.

Fowler most recently served as the senior deputy athletics director and chief operating officer at Dartmouth College since October 2022. In this crucial role, she was instrumental in shaping the visionary strategic direction for a department composed of 35 varsity teams, 950 student-athletes, and 170 dedicated staff and coaches.

The search committee was overwhelmingly impressed by Fowler's consistent track record of success throughout her career in dramatically elevating programs, securing enthusiastic buy-in for strategic initiatives, and ensuring operational excellence at the highest level.

Prior to Dartmouth, Fowler held critical, high-impact leadership positions, including deputy athletic director and chief operating officer at the Army West Point Athletics Association. She also served as an associate athletic director at Indiana University, where she directed compliance operations in alignment with rigorous NCAA, Big Ten, and university standards.

Fowler holds a bachelor of arts degree in business management from the University of Nebraska and a master of science degree in sport management from Barry University, where she graduated with high honors.
