Middlebury has announced the hiring of Nick Lewis as the Director of Athletic Communications. Lewis joins the Panthers after serving as an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Salisbury for two years.
"We are thrilled to welcome Nick to the Middlebury Athletics community," said Assistant Director of Athletics Ali Paquette. "Nick's passion for promoting student-athletes, collaborating with colleagues, and his ability to navigate challenging situations made him stand out during our search. I am excited for Nick to join our team and to help lead us through the next evolution of this department so that we can continue enhancing the experience for our student-athletes, coaches and staff."
"I am thrilled to be joining such a stellar staff and department in Middlebury Athletics," said Lewis. "I want to thank Ali Paquette and the entire search committee for allowing me to join the Middlebury family. From the moment I arrived, I could feel the deep sense of community that makes this place so special. The athletic department is not only grounded in a rich tradition of success but also forward-thinking in its commitment to providing an exceptional experience for student-athletes, coaches, and staff. It is an honor and a privilege to be joining a team that values both people and progress."
During his time with the Sea Gulls, Lewis was the primary contact for five teams, including the nationally ranked men's and women's lacrosse programs. He also provided statistical inputting for other Salisbury sports and created social media content for all teams. Before Salisbury, Lewis spent a year as the Assistant Sports Information Director at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, being the primary contact for four Division I sports, including the men's basketball program. He also served as the Athletic Broadcasting Coordinator at Washington College and Broadcasting & Communications Assistant for the Delmarva Shorebirds, the Single-A Affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles.
Lewis graduated from Salisbury University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications with a multimedia concentration. He was a broadcaster for the Sea Gulls Sports Network, the sports editor for the school's student-run newspaper, The Flyer, and a member of the concert band, chamber ensemble and pep band. He is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists. Lewis is currently working on earning his master's in business administration from Salisbury.
