NESCAC Player of the Week
Cat Kawabe – Tufts – Fy. – RF – Huntington Beach, Calif.
Hitting ninth in the Tufts lineup, Kawabe batted .500 (9-for-18) as Tufts won five out of six games, including going 3-1 in NESCAC. The rookie had four runs, four RBI, two doubles, two walks, and a stolen base during the week. Kawabe had hits in all six games and was 4-for-6 with two runs and two RBI in the team's double-header sweep at Trinity on Friday. With Tufts trailing Colby early in Game 2 on Saturday, her RBI single tied the score in the second inning, and she later scored as Tufts took a lead it would not relinquish.
 
NESCAC Pitcher of the Week
Jacelyn Lees – Wesleyan – Fy. – P – Watauga, Texas
Lees tossed back-to-back complete games over the weekend, allowing just one unearned run as she didn't allow an earned run in her two starts, both of which were wins. The rookie opened the weekend with a complete game three-hit shutout of Williams to seal the Cardinals’ first-ever sweep of the Ephs. Lees allowed just three hits and one walk, with no baserunner advancing past second base in the entire game. Wesleyan’s sweep of Williams helped the Cardinals claim the team's first Little Three title since 2013. Lees followed up with a seven-inning outing allowing five hits with one unearned run and two strikeouts in a 6-1 win at Hamilton. 
  
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst –  In four games last week Lulu Leppard (Nashua, N.H.) batted an even .500 with a .500 on-base percentage and an .857 slugging percentage. She drove in five runs and scored six times. She knocked out one double, triple, and stole a base. In a sweep of Trinity, she hit 5-for-8 with four RBI and three runs scored, plus a triple … Abby Moravek (Libertyville, Ill.) went 1-1 last week from the circle, with a 1.65 ERA. In a 1-0 extra-inning loss to Springfield, she tossed all eight innings and allowed no earned runs while striking out 10 batters. She threw two shutout innings in a 9-5 win over Trinity to close out the win, then started and earned the win in an 11-5 victory over the Bantams. 

Bowdoin – Junior Anika Ewert (Newport Coast, Calif.) had five hits, scored three runs, had three RBI, with two extra base hits in a doubleheader sweep of Thomas last week.
 
Colby – Erika MacLeod (Epping, N.H.) reached base safely in all seven games for the Mules last week, going 8-for-16 at the plate with three walks, raising her batting average from .278 to .346. In Colby's 3-1 win over Tufts, the senior drove in the game-winning run in the fifth and came around to score later in the inning for a valuable insurance run … Ashley Correll (Marlborough, Mass.) toed the circle for four scoreless innings against Tufts as the Mules topped the Jumbos on the road for the first time in 37 years. The sophomore scattered five hits and struck out one in a 3-1 victory.  Colby has earned a split with the Jumbos in each of the last two seasons. 
 
Hamilton – Miranda Mosqueda (San Diego, Calif.) hit .462 (6-for-13) with three runs scored in four games. Mosqueda went 3-for-3 and was hit by a pitch in a 5-3 setback at Middlebury. The three hits were a season high for the first year. Mosqueda singled twice and scored the only run in the Continentals' 1-0 win in eight innings against Wesleyan. Mosqueda handled 17 chances in the field without an error … Emma Tansky (Collegeville, Pa.) posted a 3.50 ERA in two appearances during the weekend. Tansky pitched all eight innings and struck out six batters in a 1-0 win against Wesleyan. The senior allowed just three hits and one walk and recorded her second shutout this season. The 1-0 victory was the first for the Continentals since April 7, 2019, against Wesleyan.
 
Middlebury – Kristyn Carroll (Kinnelon, N.J.) was a strong performer at the plate, helping the Panthers post a pair of NESCAC wins last weekend. The junior tallied three hits in six plate appearances in a series sweep of Hamilton, with two going for extra bases. In the second contest against the Continentals, the junior crossed the plate three times to secure an 8-2 triumph in six innings. With her six total hits over four games, Carroll is two away from tying the program record for base hits in a single season … Samantha Hausman (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) earned a 1-1 record in two appearances in the circle. In the second contest against Hamilton on Saturday, the senior gave up just three hits and two runs while striking out six over five innings of work to secure her team-leading eighth victory of the campaign and her fourth complete game.

Tufts – In a 5-1 week for Tufts - including 3-1 in NESCAC – Fallon O'Connor (Andover, Mass.) made five relief appearances and recorded three saves, a win, and a 0.91 earned run average. In 7.2 total innings, the sophomore allowed six hits and one run with 10 strikeouts and no walks. At MIT on Wednesday, O’Connor had saves in both games. In Game 2 at Trinity on Friday, she went 3.1 innings in relief, allowing one run and was the winning pitcher. Then in the Colby doubleheader on Saturday, O’Connor finished both games and went 2.1 innings total without allowing a hit or a run, striking out four with no walks, and earning a save in Game 2.

Wesleyan – Abby Orso (York, Maine) contributed in the circle and at the plate for Wesleyan, throwing back-to-back complete games while going 3-for-11 at the plate with one triple and one home run. Orso opened with a sensational effort against Williams in a 1-0 win over the Ephs. She threw a three-hit complete game shutout with no walks and eight strikeouts, in a win that represented the first time Wesleyan had ever shut out the Ephs in over 90 all-time meetings. The graduate student followed with another great effort coming in a hard luck loss at Hamilton, as she threw 7.2 innings in a 1-0 loss in eight innings, allowing just four hits and two walks with nine strikeouts. At the plate, Orso hit a two-run homer against Westfield State on Thursday and hit an RBI triple in game two of the Hamilton doubleheader on Sunday.
 
Williams – Katie Blanch (Rye, N.Y.) of the No. 23-ranked Williams College softball team went 8-for-20 batting, with four runs scored, two RBI, and one double, in a 4-2 week for the Ephs. The sophomore recorded three multi-hit efforts during the week and registered a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, with 17 putouts and 10 assists on 27 total chances … Sadie Leonard (Tiburon, Calif.) threw a one-hitter and struck out 14 in a complete-game win during a 7-0 victory in Game 1 of a doubleheader at Middlebury Sunday. The junior threw a two-hitter and recorded 11 strikeouts in a complete-game victory in a 2-0 triumph over Trinity on Monday afternoon in Game 1 of a doubleheader.
