NESCAC Player of the Week
Kate Coughlin – Conn. College – Jr. – A – Reading, Mass.
Coughlin continued her dominant start to the season, leading Conn. College to a 2-0 week. On Wednesday, Coughlin led the Camels with six points on five goals and one assist in a 17-3 win over Smith. On Saturday, Coughlin matched her career-high in goals, as the junior netted six in the Camels’ second straight win over Bowdoin the series, a 15-6 victory. Coughlin finished the week with 11 goals and one assist, adding four ground balls and one caused turnover.
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst –
Emily Petersen (Mountain Lakes, N.J.) scored eight goals, added an assist, and collected eight draw controls in a 1-1 week for the Mammoths. The junior led Amherst to a 14-8 victory over MIT with five goals and one assist and added a hat trick in a 12-11 setback versus Colby.
Bates –
Caroline Keating (Rye, N.Y.) tallied a hat trick in a win over the University of New England on Wednesday. The junior recorded a ground ball and secured two draw controls as well. Against No. 1 ranked Middlebury, Keating caused two turnovers, recorded two ground balls, and secured a draw control.
Bowdoin –
Lauren Burke (Wellesley, Mass.) helped lead the Polar Bears to a 2-1 week with a pair of non-conference wins in Florida. The senior erupted for eight goals against Roger Williams and scored another against Westfield State. Burke was Bowdoin's leading scorer with two tallies in the loss to Connecticut College.
Colby –
Kat Munter (Elkridge, Md.) anchored Colby's defense in Saturday's thrilling win over Amherst. The senior collected a career-high nine draw controls, including the draw with two minutes left immediately after Colby tied the game, as well as the final draw with less than a minute to play to allow Colby to run out the clock. Munter's defense held the Mammoths to two goals in the final 13 minutes of play as Colby outscored Amherst in that stretch 5-2 to steal the come-from-behind victory.
Hamilton – Junoir
Maddigan Leifer (Shelton, Conn.) finished with six points in a 1-1 week for the Continentals. Leifer paced Hamilton's offense with three goals and added two ground balls in a 17-5 setback at Tufts. In a 14-8 win at SUNY Geneseo, the junior midfielder scored two free-position goals and added an assist.
Middlebury –
Caroline Adams (Norwich, Vt.) set a program record for most draws in a single game with 16 in Tuesday’s 17-5 victory over RPI. The previous mark of 13 was set in 2023. The junior dished out three assists in the win. On Saturday, Adams recorded eight draws while scoring a hat trick for Middlebury’s fifth-straight win.
Trinity – Sophomore
Kelsey Restivo (Sayville, N.Y.) paced the Bantams offense with four goals, including three unassisted tallies, in a 16-10 loss against No. 9 Pomona-Pitzer. Restivo netted the Bantams’ first goal of the game and added a pair of third-quarter goals to keep Trinity within striking distance, followed by her final goal in the fourth quarter.
Tufts –
Margie Carden (Newtown Square, Pa.) helped No. 2 Tufts post a 17-5 win over Hamilton on Saturday. The senior attack finished with five goals, an assist, a ground ball, and a caused turnover in the victory. Carden was 2-for-3 on free position shots, scoring on five of her seven shots on goal.
Wesleyan –
Mya Waryas (Foxboro, Mass.) broke out last week for the Cardinals, registering seven points in two games, including her first career hat trick. Waryas started the week with a hat trick and assist for a career-best four-point effort in a 16-2 win at St. Lawrence. Two nights later, the sophomore led the team with three points (1G, 2A) in a 9-5 win at Williams, giving the Cardinals their ninth straight win over the Ephs.
Williams – Junior
Franny Donohue (Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y.) finished with a career-high five goals, to go along with one assist for a total of six points in a 19-1 triumph over Western Connecticut State on Tuesday.
