NESCAC Player of the Week
Hope Shue – Middlebury – Sr. – Dover, Mass.
Shue became Middlebury’s all-time leading goal scorer on Saturday with four goals in a win over Babson. She raised her career total to 233 goals to break a record that has stood since 1997. Shue scored six more goals in a victory over Bowdoin for a weekly total of 10 goals with two assists for 14 points in a 2-0 week for the Panthers. Shue also collected five draws with three ground balls. Shue’s 233 career markers rank third among her classmates in Division III, and she leads the NESCAC with 6.00 points per game.
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst –
Kate Becker (Princeton, N.J.) had three goals, including the game-winner, as the Mammoths posted their first win of 2025 with a 9-6 decision over Hamilton. The junior added four ground balls and two caused two turnovers. Becker’s goal with 4:02 left in the third was the eventual game-winner.
Bates – All five shots
Caroline Taggart (Concord, Mass.) took found the back of the net last week. Taggart started the week with two goals, a career-high four assists, and three ground balls in a 24-5 win over Husson on Tuesday. The senior followed that up with three goals and one assist in a 9-7 win over Williams on Saturday. Taggart leads the NESCAC with 2.20 assists per game and is second in points at 4.80 points per game. Bates enters the week 4-1 and 2-0 in conference play.
Colby –
Julia Jardina (Louisville, Ky.) tallied 12 goals across three wins last week for the Mules. The senior scored four against Saint Joseph's (ME), added three more in a NESCAC win over Conn. College, and collected a season-high five goals in Sunday's win over Roger Williams. The senior added an assist, four ground balls, and 10 draw controls on the week. Jardina leads the NESCAC with 16 goals this season.
Conn. College - Junior attack
Kate Coughlin (Reading, Mass.) continued her strong start to the season, leading Conn. College to a 1-1 week. On Wednesday, the Camels picked up their first win of the season, as Coughlin tied her career-high with six points on five goals and one assist in a 15-8 win over Coast Guard. On Saturday, the Camels hung tough against No. 7 Colby, as Coughlin once again led the Camels in scoring with four points on three goals and one assist. Coughlin finished the week with eight goals, two assists, two ground balls, one caused turnover, and one draw control.
Hamilton – Sophomore
Julia Lee (Towson, Md.) scored two goals, scooped up three ground balls, won three draw controls, and caused two turnovers in a 9-6 setback at Amherst, the only game of the week for the Continentals.
Trinity – Junior
Grace Denious (Wilton, Conn.) led the Bantams with a pair of goals in a 19-6 loss to Tufts.
Tufts - Senior defender
Genna Gibbons (Menlo Park, Calif.) she set a new program record for draw controls in a game with 13 in a win over Endicott and followed up with five more against Trinity on Saturday in a 19-6 victory. Gibbons consistently draws the team's best offensive player on defense, helping the Jumbos to hold teams to seven or fewer goals in all four games this season.
Wesleyan – Junior
Izzy Weintraub (Oceanside, N.Y.) matched her career-high with 11 saves while allowing just four goals in a 13-4 home win over Stevens on Saturday. Weintraub made saves on 11 of the final 13 shots on-goal that the Ducks attempted, while the four goals allowed is her fewest allowed in a game in which she played the full 60 minutes.
Williams – Junior
Franny Donohue (Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y.) finished with one goal and one assist at Bates on Saturday afternoon.
