NESCAC Player of the Week
Will Soloway – Colby – F – Fy. – Bannockburn, Ill.
Soloway tallied the overtime game-winner Friday night in a 3-2 win over Tufts and scored two goals in Saturday’s 2-2 tie against Conn. College to help Colby clinch the No. 3 seed in the NESCAC Tournament. After assisting the opening score in the first period against the Jumbos, the first-year's game-winner was his first of the season. Colby enters the NESCAC Tournament with a seven-game unbeaten streak (3-0-4).
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst –
Josh Burke (Tampa, Fla.) led the Mammoths to two key victories on the road last week with a 7-3 win over Middlebury and a 5-2 victory over Williams to help Amherst secure a spot in the NESCAC Tournament. Burke finished with one goal and four assists in the two games. He had a goal and three assists as the Mammoths scored five goals in the third period to rally from a 3-2 deficit against the Panthers. The forward added another assist in the win over the Ephs on Saturday that elevated the Mammoths to the sixth seed.
Conn. College – Junior goalie
Will McEvoy (Ottawa, Ontario) continued his outstanding play down the stretch to help Conn. College clinch a playoff berth, as the Camels earned five out of a possible six points over the final weekend of the regular season. On Friday night, McEvoy stopped 25 of 26 shots as the Camels defeated Bowdoin 2-1 for the Camels’ first win over the Polar Bears since 2022. McEvoy followed up with a career performance as Conn. College played Colby to a 2-2 tie before earning the extra point on Saturday. McEvoy stopped a career-best 49 shots across regulation and overtime and stopped all three shots in the shootout to backstop Conn. College to its fourth playoff berth in five years. McEvoy ranks tied for second in the conference, with a .935 save percentage and two shutouts.
Hamilton –
Charlie Archer (Belleville, Ohio) posted a 2.02 goals against average and .929 save percentage in a 1-1 road weekend for the Continentals. Archer started the weekend with 30 saves in a 5-0 win at Williams that clinched Hamilton's third No. 1 seed in the history of the NESCAC Championship. The shutout was the second in a row and the fourth this season for Archer. The senior stopped 22 shots in a 4-2 setback at Middlebury. It was the first time Archer allowed more than three goals in a game all season.
Middlebury – Trailing 2-1 against No. 11 Hamilton,
Jackson Morehouse (Pittsburgh, Pa.) factored into three-straight goals for Middlebury to secure a must-win 4-2 victory. The Panther dished out the assist on the game-tying tally before scoring a pair of his own markers to lift the team past the Continentals. With the win, Morehouse helped Middlebury secure a spot in the NESCAC Tournament, grabbing the seventh seed. The sophomore paces the team and ranks sixth in the conference with 22 points (10G, 12A).
Trinity – Junior
Devon Bobak (Northwood, Ohio) helped the Bantams lock up the No. 2 seed in the NESCAC Tournament with a pair of victories of Wesleyan, posting a 1.50 goals against average, a .941 save percentage with 48 saves. In the series opener, Bobak registered his second shutout of the season with 26 saves and added 22 saves in a 5-3 win in the nightcap.
Tufts –
Max Resnick (Tampa, Fla.) had a four-point weekend as the Jumbo team earned four points to secure the No. 5 seed in the NESCAC Tournament. The junior had assists on both Tufts goals on Friday night against Colby College. Resnick also scored the Jumbos' first goal and assisted a later tally in Saturday's 5-0 win over Bowdoin.
Williams – Rookie
Rowan Heithoff (Minneapolis, Minn.) buried a power-play goal with one second remaining in the second period against Amherst on Saturday.
