Trinity Claims 18th Straight NESCAC Men's Squash Championship

HARTFORD, Conn. – The top-seeded Trinity College men’s squash team wrapped up its 18th consecutive NESCAC title with an 8-1 victory over third-seeded Tufts University at the Kellner Squash Courts. The teams squared off in the final for the second year in a row.
 
The Bantams, who have won every NESCAC title since the championship’s inception in 2007, eased to an 8-1 win over No. 5 Colby in the semifinals, winning seven matches by 3-0 scores.
 
The Jumbos earned a 5-4 victory over No. 2 Williams to reach the championship match for the second year in a row. Jared Chin’s victory at the No. 4 position (12-10, 11-13, 11-6, 11-3) clinched the match for Tufts.
 
In the championship match, Trinity won six matches by a 3-0 result. Tufts’ Kerwin Teh pushed the Bantams’ Low Wa-Sern to five games at the No. 3 spot, but Wa-Sern earned the win 5-11, 11-6, 11-4, 5-11, 12-10.  Rohan Bhatia picked up the Jumbos’ point with a 3-0 win at the No. 9 position.
