NESCAC Fall All-Academic Team Released

HADLEY, Mass. – A total of 1,158 student-athletes have been named to the 2025 NESCAC Fall All-Academic Team. To be honored, an individual must have reached sophomore academic standing, and be in good standing in their sport with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 or equivalent on a 4.0 scale at the end of the 2023-24 academic year. Transfers must have completed one year of study at an institution.

Of the student-athletes to garner All-Academic honors this fall, 125 earned All-Academic and All-NESCAC accolades, while 50 were named to both the All-Sportsmanship and All-Academic Teams. Five student-athletes garnered All-NESCAC, All-Sportsmanship Team, and All-Academic honors this season: Nikhil DeNatale (Williams Men’s Cross Country), Ali Landa (Wesleyan Volleyball), Cullen McCaleb (Tufts Men’s Cross Country), Owen Thornton (Middlebury Football), and Rae Wartelle (Conn. College Volleyball)

The 2025 Fall All-Academic Team includes the following players of the year or most outstanding performers:
  • Elsi Aires (Tufts) - NESCAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Year
  • Dylan Connors (Wesleyan) - NESCAC Football Co-Defensive Player of the Year
  • Haley Dwight (Bates) NESCAC Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Year
  • Matt Fitzsimons (Wesleyan) - NESCAC Football Offensive Player of the Year
  • Max Haberman (Conn. College) - NESCAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Year
  • Kiki Higgins (Williams) - NESCAC Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Year
  • Tyler Huck (Bowdoin) - NESCAC Men’s Soccer Player of the Year
  • Audrey MacLean (Middlebury) - NESCAC Women’s Cross Country Most Outstanding Performer
  • Elliana Moreno (Wesleyan) - NESCAC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Year
  • Lena Sugrue (Tufts) - NESCAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Year
  • Eli Welch (Williams) NESCAC Men’s Cross Country Most Outstanding Performer
Founded in 1971, the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) consists of 11 liberal arts colleges and has consistently reflected its commitment to the values of athletics and academic achievement. The member colleges of the conference are Amherst College, Bates College, Bowdoin College, Colby College, Connecticut College, Hamilton College, Middlebury College, Trinity College, Tufts University, Wesleyan University, and Williams College.

NOTE: Each institution's athletic department provided the lists of all-academic honorees. The cumulative GPA on record as of the end of the 2024-25 academic year was used to determine eligibility for the fall all-academic team. Corrections to the all-academic team will not be made 30 days after the publication date of the release.
