NESCAC Player of the Week
Dan Civello – Colby – So. – C – South Weymouth, Mass.
Civello averaged 20.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game while shooting 60 percent from three-point range in two wins for the Mules. The sophomore scored a career-high 35 points in a 93-89 win over Endicott, issuing the Gulls their first loss of the season. The center went 7-for-10 from behind the arc and played all but one minute of the second half as the Mules held off a late Endicott charge. Civello also scored 11 points with seven rebounds in a 59-58 win over Suffolk and chipped in 16 points and 14 rebounds in a victory over Thomas College. The sophomore has reached double-digits in all four games this year as Colby is off to a 4-0 start for the first time since going 8-0 in 2022-23. 
 
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Chris Hammond (Los Angeles, Calif.) averaged 15.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Mammoths. The forward scored 18 points in a 70-64 loss at Springfield and 12 points in 22 minutes in an 80-46 win over Sarah Lawrence. The senior shot 11-for-15 from the floor for the week while also contributing four assists and three steals. 

Bates – Brad Coyne (Falmouth, Maine) recorded back-to-back 22-point games in a 2-0 week for the Bobcats. On Tuesday, the guard scored 22 points in 19 minutes, shooting 8-for-14 from the floor and 6-for-11 from three-point range in a 90-62 win over Husson. On Sunday, Coyne put the Bobcats ahead for good against UMass Dartmouth with 1:11 remaining in regulation. In a game that featured 18 ties and 17 lead changes, the senior’s clutch three from the left wing gave Bates an 83-82 edge in an eventual 88-82 victory to improve to 4-0 on the season. Coyne hit five 3-pointers in the contest and grabbed a season-high six rebounds while matching his career-high with five assists against the Corsairs. Coyne leads the NESCAC in 3-pointers made per game, averaging 5.5 per game this season, and is second in scoring at 21.5 points per game.

Bowdoin - Sophomore Ray Cuevas (Ipswich, Mass.) averaged 31.0 points and 6.0 rebounds, on 16-for-30 shooting from the field, and 28-for-28 from the free throw line, in a pair of non-conference wins over Maine-Farmington and UMass Boston. 

Conn. College – Greg Cantwell (Glen Head, N.Y.) averaged 19.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game, shot 7-for-12 from three-point range, while totaling five assists and three steals last week to lead the Camels to a pair of wins. The guard finished with 15 points (6-for-6 FT) and five boards in a 91-79 victory over SUNY New Paltz. The junior played a big role in Conn. College’s comeback win over Brandeis, supplying 10 of his game-high 24 points over the final 3:41 as the Camels overcame a 13-point deficit. Cantwell finished with six 3-pointers in the 84-78 win and added four assists and two steals.

Hamilton – Matthew Rideout (Sherman Oaks, Calif.) averaged 15.7 points and added eight assists in a 2-1 week for the Continentals. Rideout tied a career high with 17 points and handed out four assists in a 100-59 win against SUNY Potsdam. The junior dropped in a career-best 18 points and dished out four assists in a 92-56 victory against SUNY Fredonia in the Hobart Tournament. Rideout chipped in a dozen points in an 84-70 setback against Hobart in the championship game. The guard was 19-of-36 from the floor in the three games.

Middlebury – Dominick Ducree (Schaumburg, Ill.) averaged 17.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and shot 56 percent from the arc (9-for-16) in two wins for Middlebury last week. In the team’s home opener against Union, the Panther scored a career-best 23 points with seven 3-pointers. His final shot behind the arc was crucial, as it gave Middlebury a 73-72 lead with less than 10 seconds remaining to seal the victory over the Garnet Chargers. The rookie closed the week with 12 points and seven rebounds versus Stevens as Middlebury tallied its fifth consecutive win against Stevens.

Trinity – Henry Vetter (Kenilworth, Ill.) helped the Bantams move to 3-0 to start the season, averaging 22.0 points, shooting 70.8 percent (17-of-24) from the floor, with 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists across a pair of victories for Trinity. Vetter registered a season-high 24 points, connecting on 9-of-13 from the field, with three rebounds, two assists, and two steals as the Bantams defeated Eastern Connecticut State. The senior followed with a 20-point, six-rebound, four-steal effort in a win at Yeshiva.

Tufts - Tufts posted a 3-0 week thanks to the efforts of Scott Gyimesi (Fair Haven, N.J.), who posted 55 points in the three games while averaging just over 18 points per game for the Jumbos. The senior also nabbed 6.7 rebounds per game over the three-game stretch, as he finished with a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds against Suffolk on Tuesday. Gyimesi added 20 points, four rebounds, and four assists against Emerson, followed by 23 points, six rebounds and four helpers in a 100-94, come-from-behind win over Yeshiva. 

Wesleyan – Sam Pohlman (New York, N.Y.) averaged 18 points with 5.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game in two neutral-site wins over Roanoke and Gettysburg last weekend at Salisbury at the Governor's Challenge. Pohlman poured in 14 second-half points on his way to a career-high 22-point night to go along with eight assists and six rebounds as the Cardinals came back from a 22-point deficit to defeat the Maroons 84-79. The senior followed that up with 14 points, five rebounds, and three assists as the Cardinals again came back from a first-half deficit to land a 59-56 win over Gettysburg. 

Williams – Jackson Rein (Raleigh, N.C.) averaged 17.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game during a 2-0 week for the Ephs. The sophomore finished with 13 points and a career-high 12 rebounds in a 79-72 victory over visiting SUNY Oneonta on Wednesday. Rein scored a career-best 21 points and added seven rebounds in a 90-77 triumph at Emmanuel on Saturday.
