NESCAC Player of the Week
Babacar Pouye – Bates – Jr. – F – Carpinteria, Calif.
Pouye shot 67 percent (14-for-21) from the floor over the course of two games and averaged 19.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. The junior started with 13 points (5-for-7 FG) in 18 minutes played and five rebounds in a 100-55 win over Anna Maria. Pouye followed up with 25 points on 9-for-14 shooting and a career-high 16 rebounds in a 95-87 win versus Plymouth. The forward also dished out five assists against the Panthers. The Bobcats are off to a 2-0 start for the first time since the 2015-16 season.
 
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Chris Hammond (Los Angeles, Calif.) averaged 10.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest in a 2-0 week for the Mammoths, who captured the 2025 Ken Wright '52 Invitational Championship with a 96-52 victory over Elms and a 68-53 win over Rutgers-Camden. In the win over Elms, Hammond contributed 16 points and two rebounds, shooting 7-for-12 from the floor and tossing in an assist and a block. The senior had four points and a team-high 13 rebounds in the win over Rutgers-Camden and was named Tournament MVP. 

Bowdoin -  Sophomore Jackson Bleecker (West Orange, N.J.), who missed his rookie year due to injury, scored a game-high 24 points in his collegiate debut on Friday, an 82-59 win at the University of New England.

Colby – Dan Civello (South Weymouth, Mass.) led Colby to a win in its season opener at Rivier. The sophomore connected for 20 points, two off his career-high, and added five rebounds, four assists, and three blocks. 

Conn. College – James LaFrance (Guilford, Conn.) poured in a game-high 25 points on 10-for-15 shooting in an 82-72 win at Emerson last week. The sophomore shot 4-for-6 from long range and stuffed the stat sheet with eight rebounds, four assists, and a steal in 33 minutes of action. LaFrance contributed 11 points during a 13-2 run that gave the Camels the lead for good in the first half.

Hamilton – Junior Jalen Reese (Gilford, N.H.) tied career highs with 12 points and four blocked shots and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds – all on the defensive end – in a 75-71 setback against Ithaca. Reese shot 6-of-10 from the field and made two steals in the Continentals' lone game of the week.

Middlebury – In just 20 minutes, Ian Murray (Kennebunkport, Maine) tallied a team-best 21 points on 50 percent shooting in the season opener at Skidmore. The Panther also added two rebounds and an assist. Murray’s performance marks the sixth consecutive season-opener that a Middlebury player has tallied 20 or more points.
 
Trinity – Jarrel Okorougo (Stoneham, Mass.) helped lead the Bantams to the program's first 100-point performance since 2021-22, posting 15 points, five rebounds, two assists, and a steal as Trinity registered a 101-39 victory over Lehman College.

Wesleyan – Fritz Hauser (Waterford, Conn.) led the Cardinals with 15.5 points per game over the weekend while averaging 7.5 rebounds on 59.1 percent shooting from the floor and 45.5 percent from three. Hauser posted 13 points (5-7 FG, 3-5 3FG) and six rebounds in a 100-38 win over Johnson & Wales on Saturday in a dominant showing that saw the Cardinals outscore the Wildcats 45-6 in the second half. The senior followed that up with 18 points (8-15 FG), nine rebounds, and five assists in a 92-90 overtime loss at TCNJ in a game where he scored all 18 of his points in the second half and overtime period. 

Williams – Jackson Rein (Raleigh, N.C.) was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Williams Tipoff Tournament, as the Ephs went 2-0 to start the season. For the weekend, the sophomore shot 7-for-14 on 3-pointers and averaged 17.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. Rein totaled game highs of 19 points and 11 rebounds, while shooting 5-for-10 on 3-pointers, in an 89-67 win over SUNY Morrisville on Saturday. Rein dropped a game-high 15 points in a 60-53 triumph over Alfred University on Sunday.
