Every Monday during the season, NESCAC Players of the Week will be selected based on information submitted by the athletic communications offices at member institutions. This is the final NESCAC Weekly Release for the 2025 season.
NESCAC Football Offensive Player of the Week
Angelo LaRose – Wesleyan – Jr. – RB – Worcester, Mass.
LaRose, a junior running back, stepped into the lead back role for the first time in his career and posted 218 rushing yards on 26 carries and one touchdown in Wesleyan's 31-28 triumph over Trinity that earned the Cardinals back-to-back NESCAC titles for the first time in team history as co-champs. Coming in with 290 career rushing yards, LaRose's 218 yards were the most rushing yards in a single game by a Cardinal since Kyle Gibson rushed for 244 against Hamilton on September 29, 2012. LaRose broke free from the Trinity defense for a 78-yard touchdown in the second quarter and later picked up 65 yards on a handoff early in the third quarter.
NESCAC Football Defensive Player of the Week
John Young – Hamilton – Sr. – LB – Secaucus, N.Y.
Young led the Continentals with five tackles, including one for a loss of two yards, and added an interception and a quarterback hurry in their 24-21 win at Bates. Young's pick at the Hamilton 33 with 10:22 left in the fourth quarter came with the Continentals clinging to a 17-14 lead and set up their last touchdown. It was the first interception of the senior's career.
NESCAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Hudson Fulcher-Melendy – Amherst – So. – K – Easthampton, Mass.
Fulcher-Melendy went 4-for-4 in field goals on Saturday, including a game-winning 26-yard boot with 2:57 left in the game, to help the Mammoths edge Williams, 14-13, in the 139th Biggest Little Game in America. The four field goals in a single game tied the Amherst football program record set in 2014. Fulcher-Melendy made two field goals in the second quarter of 37 and 27 yards, to give Amherst a 6-0 lead, then converted a third field goal for a 9-7 lead and finally the game-winner in the fourth quarter to account for the final margin.

Amherst – Senior
Carter Jung (Menlo Park, Calif.) made a season-high nine receptions for 81 yards Saturday in Amherst's 14-13 win over Williams. Four of his nine receptions came on third-down plays and one on fourth down. Jung finished the season leading the NESCAC in receptions (54) and posted career highs in yards (714), receiving touchdowns (7), and total touchdowns (8) … Junior
TJ Kazanowsky (Toms River, N.J.) made five tackles, two solo, and one for loss while forcing a fumble and intercepting a Williams 2-point conversion and returning it 100 yards for two points and a crucial momentum swing in the Mammoths' 14-13 win over Amherst.
Bates – Making his first collegiate start,
Connor Hennessey (Newton, Mass.) completed 11-of-21 passes for 224 yards and two touchdowns against Hamilton. The rookie also led Bates in rushing yards, carrying the ball 10 times for 72 yards. Hennessey's touchdown passes were both deep balls, going for 60 and 54 yards, respectively. His 57-yard run in the first quarter set up the first touchdown of the game for the Bobcats …
Ryan Rozich (Cromwell, Conn.) recorded a game-high 13 total tackles, including six solo stops against Hamilton. His 12.1 tackles per game this season lead the NESCAC and rank seventh in all of NCAA Division III. Rozich also broke up a pass against the Continentals.
Colby –
Patrick Miller (Milton, Mass.) guided Colby to its third straight victory since taking over as signal caller in Week 7. The rookie completed 8-of-17 passes for 92 yards and ran for 58 yards, including a three-yard score in the second quarter to put Colby ahead 9-0 …
Declan McNamara (Ridgefield, Conn.) helped the Mules post their most wins for the program since 2005 with a 6-3 record and a third-place finish in the conference standings. The senior linebacker played a key role for Colby's defense as the Mules finished the season leading the league in points allowed (14.7 ppg), including allowing 10 or fewer points in five of their last six games. McNamara stepped in front of a pass midway through the second quarter and returned it 28 yards for a touchdown to put Colby in front 16-0 at the half. He finished with five tackles, one tackle for a loss of eight yards, one pass breakup, and the interception for a score …
Eli Soehren (Otisfield, Maine) punted 12 times for an average of 43.8 yards and finished the season leading the NESCAC in yards per punt. The junior’s kicks allowed 0.0 yards per return with seven downed punts, three fair catches, one touchback, and one out of bounds. Soehren's first punt of the game came from his end zone as the junior sent it 56 yards to re-establish field position. The junior had four punts over 50 yards and consistently presented the Polar Bears with tough field position, settling four punts inside Bowdoin's six-yard line. His final punt for 68 yards flipped the field with 1:01 remaining and Colby in front 16-0.
Hamilton –
Luke Kurzum (Caldwell, N.J.) accounted for 371 yards of offense in the Continentals' 24-21 win at Bates. Kurzum was 23-of-38 for 295 yards passing and added a career-high 76 yards rushing on 18 attempts. The senior's 67-yard touchdown pass gave Hamilton a 23-14 advantage early in the fourth quarter … Senior
Henry Rubey (New Albany, Ohio) averaged 43.8 yards on four punts at Bates. Rubey boomed a season-long, 55-yard punt that was downed at the Bates 5 in the second quarter.
Middlebury –
Brian Moran (Richmond, Va.) had a solid outing, completing 19-of-26 attempts for 213 yards and two touchdowns to lead Middlebury to a 33-30 come-from-behind win in overtime against Tufts. Moran’s 73.1 completion percentage was a season-high. The Panther orchestrated an eight-play, 69-yard drive early in the fourth quarter that gave Middlebury a 20-17 lead. Jeremy Kiefer (Plymouth, Mass.) to secure the overtime victory. The senior’s performance helped lead Middlebury to its 11th winning season in the last 12 years …
Tommy Schwartz (Cohasset, Mass.) recorded a career-best 10 tackles, with four being solo stops. Schwartz also came in clutch for the Panthers in the fourth quarter, tallying a nine-yard sack that preceded Middlebury’s third interception of the afternoon. Schwartz ends the season leading the Panthers with three sacks and ranked second in total tackles (57.0) and solo stops (25) …
Tony Wang (Ladera Ranch, Calif.) etched his name in the Middlebury record books, tallying two field goals in the triumph over Tufts. The senior’s 35-yard kick right before half pushed him past three Panthers, including Super Bowl Champion Stephen Hauschka, for the most field goals made in a season with 11. Wang also converted all three of his extra points and recorded five touchbacks on six attempts in kickoff duties.
Trinity – Junior
Ethan Krauss (Somers, N.Y.) helped anchor the Bantams' defense against Wesleyan to earn a share of the NESCAC Championship crown. Krauss posted seven tackles, including a sack, with a forced fumble against the Cardinals.
Tufts -
Vaughn Seelicke (Little Rock, Ark.) became the Tufts University all-time leading scorer on Saturday at Middlebury, as he converted three field goals and three PATs to raise his career scoring mark to 219 points. The senior finished the season with eight field goals, and his last one as a Jumbo was enough to send the game at Middlebury to overtime with no time remaining.
Wesleyan –
Dean Sokaris (Guilderland, N.Y.) posted five tackles (4 solo) with three tackles for loss and two sacks. The senior and the Cardinal defense held Trinity to 37 rushing yards, the fewest for the Bantams in any game this season, while the two sacks were the first of Sokaris' career.
Williams – Against Amherst, first-year quarterback
Mustafa Mozawalla (Woodbury, Conn.) went 11-of-18 in the passing game for 100 yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 25 yards and one touchdown … Sophomore
Luke Mangini (Moreland Hills, Ohio) compiled six solo tackles, two assisted tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles against the Mammoths … Junior
