Williams Dominates for Sixth Straight NESCAC Women's Cross Country Title

WATERFORD, Conn. – The Williams Ephs claimed their sixth straight NESCAC title and 22nd overall with a dominating performance at the 2025 NESCAC Women’s Cross Country Championship hosted by Conn. College at Harkness Park in Waterford, Conn.
 
Williams placed all five scoring runners in the top ten and 4.3 seconds separated the pack of Ephs. Williams went 4 (Kate Tuttle – 21:12.41) - 5 (Morgan Eigel – 21:12.91) - 6 (Tamar Byl-Brann – 21:13.30) - 7 (Kate Swann – 21:13.98) - 10 (Charlene Peng – 21:26.79) for a final score of 32 points and a 37-point victory over runner-up Middlebury.
 
Individually, Middlebury's Audrey MacLean won her second straight NESCAC title, covering the 6K course in a winning time of 20:47.8 (tying for the third best time in course history), which was 18 seconds faster than runner-up Grace McDonough of host Conn. College. MacLean is the first women’s runner to win back-to-back titles since Colby’s Sophia Gorman in 2018 and 2019. The junior’s back-to-back wins mark just the seventh time since 1976 a runner has achieved the feat in the women’s championship.
 
Middlebury was the runner-up and Conn. College’s third-place finish was the best in program history. Tufts (4th) and Amherst (5th) rounded out the top five teams.
