NESCAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week
Molly Brumbach – Wesleyan – Sr. – Goalkeeper – Montclair, N.J.
Brumbach spearheaded a stellar defensive effort from the Cardinals as the senior goalkeeper made eight saves in a 1-0 shutout win over at Colby. Her steady presence in net kept the Mules at bay in a game where Colby outshot Wesleyan 34-11 including a 20-2 disparity in the second half. Brumbach made four saves in both the first and second half and helped defend 12 corner kicks by the Mules.
NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst –
Sofia Preuss’ (Avon, Conn.) first career on her first shot of the season stood as the game-winner in the Mammoths' 2-1 win at Bowdoin. The junior also played a strong 90 minutes defensively in the win.
Bates – Brady Jacobson (Weston, Mass.) made a season-high nine saves on Tuesday in her first collegiate start at Bowdoin. The rookie also made five stops and did not allow a goal in 45 minutes of action at No. 10 Middlebury on Saturday. Jacobson’s save percentage sits at .864 on the season.
Bowdoin – Senior
Kyra Hacker (Natick, Mass.) scored three goals in a 1-1 week for the Polar Bears. She finished off a pair of corner kicks, scoring twice, in a 3-0 win over Bates on Tuesday before adding another goal in Bowdoin's 2-1 Saturday setback to Amherst.
Colby – Senior
MK Marshall (Storrs Mansfield, Conn.) collected three saves in net against Wesleyan and led the Colby defense to its 10th straight game allowing one goal or less.
Conn. College - First-year goalkeeper
Yael Bugaev (Westborough, Mass.) started both games in goal for Conn. College, totaling 135 minutes. On Tuesday at Trinity, Bugaev recorded a career-high nine saves, before adding three saves in 45 minutes against Williams on Saturday.
Hamilton – Rookie
Diana Baffor (Old Akrade, Ghana) scored on a free kick with 3:52 left in the second half and lifted the Continentals to a 1-0 win against Trinity in Hamilton's lone match last week. The goal was Baffor's second this season and the first since Sept. 9 for the first-year.
Middlebury – Junior
Mia Feldman (Salt Lake City, Utah) scored the lone goal with 18:52 elapsed to lead Middlebury to a 1-0 victory over Bates in the team's final home game of the regular season. The goal extended Middlebury’s winning streak over the Bobcats to nine consecutive games.
Trinity – Senior
Elena Lindonen (Boxford, Mass.) powered the Bantams to a crucial 4-3 victory at Connecticut College, finding the back of the net less than two minutes into play, followed by another tally in the 49th minute.
Tufts –
Gigi Edwards (Menlo Park, Calif.) posted another shutout on Wednesday at Bridgewater State, as she made two stops in the win. The junior has tallied six shutouts on the year and has allowed just four goals in nearly 1,000 minutes of action.
Williams –
Maya Lloyd led No. 14 Williams to a 2-0 week. The rookie scored Williams' first two goals, including the game-winning tally, in a 4-0 victory at Westfield State on Tuesday and netted the Ephs' second goal in a 3-0 triumph at Connecticut College on Saturday.
