NESCAC Football Weekly Release - Oct. 20, 2025

Every Monday during the season, NESCAC Players of the Week will be selected based on information submitted by the athletic communications offices at member institutions.

NESCAC Football Offensive Player of the Week
Jon Oris – Williams – Sr. – RB – Otis, Mass.
Oris rushed 25 times for 198 yards and one touchdown in a 37-30 come-from-behind win against Bates on Saturday. The senior averaged 7.9 yards per carry and recorded a 92-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter that capped a string of four consecutive touchdowns by the Ephs to erase a 23-7 deficit and put Williams ahead 37-23.

NESCAC Football Defensive Player of the Week
Ferris Collins – Bowdoin – So. – S – Milton, Mass.
Collins sealed the Polar Bears' first win of the season with a pair of fourth quarter interceptions against the Cardinals on Saturday. Collins’ interception with under seven minutes left in the contest led to a Bowdoin score to push the Polar Bears’ lead to 25-17. The sophomore’s second interception of the quarter came with 2:41 left and led to a field goal attempt. In addition to eight tackles, Collins also forced a first quarter fumble deep in Bowdoin territory that was recovered by the Polar Bears. The Polar Bears’ defensive unit held the Cardinals that entered the game averaging 30.1 points per game to a season-low 17 points. 

NESCAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Eli Soehren – Colby – Jr. – P – Otisfield, Maine
Soehren helped Colby regain field position all afternoon as the Mules ground out a 13-9 win against Amherst.  The junior punted 11 times with a 42.3 average. He booted two over 50 yards, landed five inside the 20 and three inside the 10. On back-to-back kicks in the second quarter Soehren settled the ball at the one and two-yard lines, consistently giving the Mammoths a long field to work with. His final punt of the afternoon came out of his own end zone with just over a minute to play with Colby nursing a four-point lead.  

NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst
 – Junior Christian Moore (Renton, Va.) had a career-highs of 10 receptions and 114 yards and scored the Mammoths’ touchdown in a 13-9 loss to Colby on Saturday … Sophomore Wyatt Morgan (Fairfield, Conn.) had three tackles, including two sacks for loss of 16 yards and 2.5 for a loss of 18, against the Mules.

Bates Ryan Gleason (Millbury, Mass.) caught four passes for 99 yards and two touchdowns against Williams. The junior hauled in three passes for 87 yards on a touchdown drive that included a 38-yard scoring strike from quarterback Jack Perry to Gleason with 3:52 remaining in regulation. That touchdown cut the Williams lead to seven, giving Bates a chance down the stretch. Gleason's first touchdown reception, a 12-yard score that at the time put the Bobcats up 23-7 after the extra point, came on a fade route with just three seconds remaining in the half. Gleason also recovered a muffed punt earlier in the contest, which set up Bates' second touchdown of the day, a 19-yard run by sophomore Quinn Carver … Ryan Rozich (Cromwell, Conn.) posted double-digit tackles for the sixth straight game with 11 total tackles with a season-high eight solo stops against the Ephs. The junior’s 11.7 tackles per game ranks first in the NESCAC and is tied for ninth in Division III … Major Spencer's (Mansfield, Texas) tackle for loss on a fake punt attempt by Williams with 6:46 left in the fourth quarter kept Bates within a touchdown after the Ephs had taken the lead earlier in the quarter. The sophomore finished the day with five total tackles. 

Bowdoin – In his second career start rookie quarterback Soren Hummel (San Francisco, Calif.) guided the Polar Bears to their first win at Wesleyan since 2008 on Saturday, going 19-for-31 for 211 yards passing and three touchdowns, including a 78-yard on the first play from scrimmage.

Colby – Sophomore Jack Nye (Clinton, Conn.) collected five passes on 11 targets in Colby's win over Amherst. In a game marked by battle of field position, three of Nye’s receptions went for more than 10 yards with two moving the sticks. With yards through the air difficult to come by against Amherst, Nye's 42 yards made up 70 percent of Colby's receiving yards … Declan McNamara (Ridgefield, Conn.) set a career-high in tackles for the second straight week with 13 against the Mammoths. The senior was also key downfield, collecting his first career sack while also adding his fifth pass breakup in the last three games.

Hamilton – Luke Kurzum (Caldwell, N.J.) was 21-of-35 for 277 yards and tied a career high with three touchdown passes in a 38-28 loss against Tufts. The junior also ran for a season-best 67 yards and his first rushing touchdown of 2025. Sophomore running back Alastair Orr (Rumson, N.J.) caught a career-high 12 passes for 107 yards … Senior Frank Ruiz (Tappan, N.Y.) led the Hamilton defense with a career-high eight stops including 1.5 tackles against the Jumbos while sophomore Ian Redzepagic (Boonton, N.J.) chipped in a career-best seven tackles, including six solo stops, and broke up two passes … Senior Henry Rubey averaged 45.3 yards on three punts versus Tufts. Rubey pinned two of those punts inside the 20-yard line and tied a season high with a 51-yard boot.

Middlebury – Connor McClellan (Columbus, Ohio) posted 146 yards of total offense against Trinity. The sophomore ran the ball 24 times for 104 yards and a touchdown. McClellan’s 35-yard score started a 15-point swing for Middlebury that got the Panthers within two with less than five minutes remaining. McClellan also hauled in three catches for 42 yards … Tommy Schwartz (Cohasset, Mass.) tied for the team lead with six solo tackles and added a tackle for loss against the Bantams. The sophomore ranks second on the team with 39.0 total tackles and 16 solo stops … Senior Tony Wang (Ladera Ranch, Calif.) tallied nine points with two field goals and three extra points versus Trinity. The Panther converted a career-long 40-yard field goal in the second quarter before adding a 30-yard attempt before halftime. Wang also added three touchbacks on kickoff duties for Middlebury.  The kicker is tied for the NESCAC lead with six field goals made.

Trinity – Junior Jaxon Carroll (Fitchburg, Mass.) helped orchestrate the Bantams offense to a 28-26 victory over Middlebury to move to 5-1 on the season. Carroll completed 14-of-22 passes for 251 yards and matched a career-high with three touchdowns … Sophomore Lincoln Moore (Foxborough, Mass.) led the Bantams defense with a game-high 10 tackles, matching a season-high with four solo tackles, in the victory over the Panthers. On the season, Moore ranks 12th in the NESCAC with 41 total tackles.

Tufts - Hudson Weidman (Boxford, Mass.) was 29-for-41 for a career-high 319 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-28 win over Hamilton on Saturday. The sophomore added five rushes for 31 yards helping Tufts post nearly 500 yards of total offense. Weidman started the day with a 43-yard  touchdown pass to sophomore Keller Rogers (Round Rock, Texas), and then also found junior Christian Shapiro (South Salem, N.Y.) for a six-yard touchdown score while also hitting graduate student Jack Elliott (Holliston, Mass.) for a three-yard touchdown … Sophomore linebacker Ryan Horigan (Pleasantville, N.Y.) posted nine stops, adding a sack against the Continentals … Vaughn Seelicke (Little Rock, Ark.) converted all six of his kicks including five extra points in the victory. The senior also connected on a 26-yard field goal attempt just before halftime to put the Jumbos ahead for good at 17-14 at halftime. Seelicke is 5-for-6 on the season on field goals and has made all 14 of his extra point attempts.

Williams – Sophomore Zakkai Moore (Meriden, Conn.) recorded seven solo tackles, three assisted tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and 2.0 sacks in the 37-30 win over Bates Saturday afternoon in Lewiston, Maine … Leonardo Maiuolo (San Jose, Calif.) went 3-for-3 on PATs versus the Bobcats and punted six times, one of which was 50-plus yards and one which landed inside the 20-yard line.
