NESCAC Player of the Week
Scott Gyimesi – Tufts – Jr. – F – Fair Haven, N.J.
Gyimesi helped Tufts raise its record to 17-2 with a 71-42 victory over Conn. College and marking the Jumbos' best start to a season since 1972-73. Gyimesi posted a stat line of 25 points, 10 rebounds, and two assists, and shot 12-of-18 from the floor in 20 minutes of action. The double-double was Gyimesi's 10th of the season, as he helped Tufts move to 5-0 in the NESCAC for the first time since 2016-17. Gyimesi recorded zero turnovers for the fourth straight game.

NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst – Elias Chin (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) had a career and season-high 21 points in a 69-65 overtime loss at Williams last week. The newcomer shot 9-for-18 from the floor while contributing four rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Bates – Brady Coyne (Falmouth, Maine) hit a step-back baseline game-winning jumper at the buzzer to lift the Bobcats past Maine-Farmington, 66-64. Coyne scored 21 points on 8-for-13 shooting while hitting 5-of-7 from 3-point range. The junior followed up with 11 points in a 68-62 overtime win at UMass Dartmouth on Saturday.

Colby – Savion Stroud (Pittsburgh, Pa.) tallied double-digit scoring performances in both games last week, including a 20-point 14-rebound game in a victory over Bowdoin.  The sophomore shot 8-of-11 from the floor to help the Mules retain the CBB title for the fourth straight year. The sophomore scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the second half as Colby took the lead for good midway through the frame and fought off a fierce Polar Bear attack with minutes to play. With 20 points across Colby's two games last week, junior Max Poulton (Wellesley, Mass.) hit the 1000-career point mark to become the 42nd Colby player to reach the milestone and the third in the last four years.
 
Conn. College – Matt Leaver (Norwell, Mass.) turned in his best performance of the season against a NESCAC opponent last week, finishing with seven points and two rebounds in 10 minutes off the bench at Tufts. The rookie forward shot 3-for-5 from the floor and drained his second three-pointer of the year.
 
Hamilton – Hank Morgan (Caldwell, N.J.) averaged 22.5 points per game in a 2-0 week for the Continentals. Morgan shot 77 percent (17-of-22) from the field, including 6-of-9 from 3-point range, and was a perfect 5-for-5 at the free-throw line. The senior guard poured in 29 points and made two steals in an 84-60 win against Amherst. Earlier in the week, Morgan posted 16 points, seven rebounds, and three assists in 18 minutes of an 83-60 victory at SUNY Potsdam.
 
Middlebury – Junior Tristan Joseph (Norwalk, Conn.) sank a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to lift Middlebury past Williams, 71-70, for the squad's first NESCAC win. The Panther averaged 12.0 points per game in a 1-1 week while shooting 9-for-11 from the charity stripe including a perfect 3-for-3 against the Ephs. 
 
TrinityDrew Lazarre (West Haven, Conn.) powered the Bantams with a game-high 21 points, nine rebounds, a game-high five assists, and two steals. The junior shot 7-of-12 from the field and tied a career-high with four 3-pointers,
 
Wesleyan – Sophomore Ben Lyttle (New Rochelle, N.Y.) was the catalyst for the Cardinals, scoring all 16 of his points in the second half as Wesleyan used a late 16-5 run to defeat Trinity to remain undefeated on the season. Lyttle shot 5-of-10 from the floor and added eight rebounds in 26 minutes. Entering the week of Jan. 27, the Cardinals are Division III's only undefeated men's basketball team.
 
Williams – Hudson Hansen (Bellevue, Wash.) scored a career-high 25 points, shooting 9-of-13 from the field and 6-of-7 from the free-throw line, against Middlebury on Saturday. The junior also finished with eight points, four rebounds, and three assists in a 69-65 overtime win over visiting Amherst on Wednesday. Hansen averaged 16.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and shot 57 percent (12-for-21) from the floor in the two games.
