NESCAC Football Offensive Player of the Week
Owen McHugh – Williams – So. – QB – Milton, Mass.

McHugh went 17-of-25 passing for 247 yards and five touchdowns in the Ephs' 42-7 season-opening win against Hamilton. McHugh threw three touchdown passes in the second quarter and two more in the third. Two of the five touchdown passes were 40 yards or more. The 247 passing yards, five passing touchdowns, and 17 completions were collegiate bests for McHugh.

NESCAC Football Defensive Player of the Week
Ty Richardson – Tufts – So. – CB – San Mateo, Calif.

Richardson posted three tackles and two interceptions including one to help seal the victory over the Polar Bears. Tufts trailed 14-13 in the third quarter, but the sophomore’s first interception helped the Jumbos get the ball back deep in Bowdoin territory, which resulted in a touchdown to shove the Jumbos into the lead. Richardson’s second interception came with less than a minute to play, picking off a pass at the Tufts' 10 and returning it 44 yards to clinch the victory. It was the first multi-interception game for Tufts since November 4, 2017 (vs. Colby)

NESCAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Dylan Connors – Wesleyan – Jr. – DB – West Milford, N.J.

Connors blocked a punt, recovered the loose ball, and ran 40 yards in for a touchdown that put Wesleyan up 21-0 towards the end of the first quarter in a 43-7 win at Middlebury. The touchdown was Connors' second career score while he added six tackles (5 solo) with two tackles for loss in the Week 1 victory. The Cardinals handed the Panthers their worst home loss in almost 30 years.

NESCAC Weekly Honor Roll
Amherst
 – Mason Morrow (West Des Moines, Iowa) completed 13-of-24 passes for 140 yards in a 19-7 win over Bates on Saturday. The junior also rushed six times for five yards, including both Mammoth touchdowns in the win … Luke Harmon (Washington, D.C.) led the Mammoths with 12 tackles (8 solo) and had the only Mammoth sack of the afternoon. The junior also accounted for both Amherst interceptions and helped the Mammoth defense hold Bates to 182 yards … Matt Kelley (Norfolk, Mass.) made 2-of-3 field goals, converting from 33 and 34 yards out in the win over the Bobcats. The sophomore also made 1-of-2 PAT attempts and had five kickoffs, averaging 57.8 yards per kickoff, including one touchback. On the game's opening kickoff, Kelley recovered a fumble deep on Bates territory to set up Amherst's first score, a field goal by himself. 
 
 Bates – Ryan Lynskey (Cranford, N.J.) ran the ball 20 times for a career-high 78 yards against a tough Amherst defense. The sophomore personally accounted for five of the 15 first downs earned by the Bates offense and did not have any rushes go for negative yards … Ryan Rozich (Cromwell, Conn.) was the leading tackler on a Bates defense that held Amherst to just 190 yards of total offense, the fewest total yards allowed by Bates in one game since 2015. The sophomore linebacker finished the game with nine tackles, including five solo stops, and two tackles for loss.
 
Bowdoin – Senior quarterback Robbie Long (Dunstable, Mass.) rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns and passed for 124 yards and another score against Tufts on Saturday ...  Senior defensive end Aidan Reidy (Scituate, Mass.) made eight total tackles, two sacks, three tackles for loss, and had a fumble recovery against the Jumbos … Senior punter Jotham Casey (Cheshire, Conn.) averaged 39.9 yards on eight punts with two over 50 yards and two downed inside the 20.
 
Colby - Duke Ferrara (Wellesley, Mass.) posted career-highs of six receptions for 90 yards and a score in a setback at Trinity.  The senior helped the Mules work out of their own end zone late in the fourth quarter with a 52-yard catch and run and capitalized the next drive with a four-yard catch for Colby's lone touchdown on the afternoon … Sebastien Romain (Hudson, Mass.) was a spark for the Mules against Trinity.  The junior collected a career-high seven tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss. On Trinity's opening drive, Roman forced and recovered a fumble, and was credited with one pass breakup and two quarterback hurries on the afternoon … Taking over the punting duties for the 2024 season, kicker Christos Tzoumakas (Birmingham, Mich.) boomed two punts over 50 yards and three more over 40 yards to post a 42.6 average on eight punts. The sophomore’s opening punt of 54 yards pinned the Bantams at their own 4-yard line and was one of three the Tzoumakas placed inside the 20.  Tzoumakas kicked off once (55 yards) and made good on his only point after try. 
 
 Hamilton - Sophomore Chester Boynton (Concord, Mass.) caught six passes for 83 yards, including one for a 12-yard touchdown, in the Continentals' 42-7 setback at Williams. The touchdown was Boynton's first at Hamilton … Senior Nick Hoff (Parker, Colo.) was credited with a team-high nine tackles including seven solo stops and a half-tackle for a loss in the Continentals' setback at Williams … Senior Tighe Hoey (New Canaan, Conn.) averaged 43.7 yards on 10 punts in the setback at Williams. Hoey pinned two punts inside the 20 and had two of 50-plus yards.
 
Middlebury – Senior Ethan Vashel (Guilford, Conn.) recorded a career-high 41-yard run and a single-game-best 58 rushing yards in the Panthers’ season opener versus Wesleyan … Senior Tomás Kenary (Chevy Chase, Md.) tied Middlebury’s program record for most blocked kicks in a career with a block of a Wesleyan attempt on Saturday to bring his total to four.
 
Trinity – Graduate student Zander Zebrowski (Verona, N.J.) set new career highs in total offense, completions, and passing yards to help the Bantams open the season with a 17-7 victory over Colby. Zebrowski racked up 332 yards of total offense, completing 29-of-34 passes for 295 yards and a touchdown, while adding 37 yards on the ground with a score … Senior Ma-Lyke Davis (Danbury, Conn.) anchored the Bantams' defensive unit that limited Colby to 237 yards, including 54 yards rushing. Davis logged a career-high six tackles with a sack and a career-high three pass breakups … Senior Matthew Jumes (Franklin, Mass.) converted both PATs and added a 27-yard field goal to help the Bantams capture a 17-7 win over Colby in the 2024 season opener. 
 
Tufts - In his first collegiate start at tailback, sophomore Christian Shapiro (South Salem, N.Y.) tallied 61 yards on the ground on 23 carries and posted touchdown runs of eight and two yards in the Jumbos’ 23-21 win against Bowdoin … Vaughn Seelicke (Little Rock, Ark.) tied the Tufts school record for field goals in a game with three in the win over Bowdoin. The junior’s third field goal of the game was the game-winner in the fourth quarter to give the Jumbos a 23-21 win. He also connected from 35 and 31 yards out, as he tied his personal best for makes in a game. 
 
Wesleyan - The Cardinals posted a 43-7 triumph at Middlebury in the season opener. Chase Wilson (Lake Charles, La.) had five catches for 168 yards and one touchdown. Wilson exploded for big play gains of 31, 43, and 66 yards against the Panthers. The senior wideout wasn’t utilized much in the second half with his team holding a 30-0 halftime lead. The 36-point win is Wesleyan’s largest-ever road victory over Middlebury while the Cardinals handed the Panthers their worst home defeat to any opponent since 1986 … Senior Ben Carbeau (Concord, Mass.) led the Cardinals with eight tackles (5 solo) to go along with one sack and one pass breakup at Middlebury.
 
Williams – Rookie Luke Mangini (Moreland Hills, Ohio) totaled a team-leading eight tackles (7 solo) in the win over the Continentals … Ivan Shuran (Medina, Ohio) went a perfect 6-for-6 on PATs in the win over Hamilton. The senior also had seven kickoffs for a total of 406 yards, four touchbacks, and an average of 58.0 yards per kickoff.
